I was typing a letter and had to quit because those damn floating ads come across the letter and you cannot close them off. Why do we have to put up with this?
got her law degree from a cracker-jack box online schoo. CA is one of the few states that allows students who get law degrees online to take the state bar exam. She passed the CA bar exam but is only licensed to practice law in CA. She needs to be disciplined, possibly disbarred.
If she cannot follow the rules, she has no business practicing law.
Sid Caesar hour. It was live.
have no insight or good writing. They are just action, violence sensation, and bad acting. MadMen is the best to come along since the WIRE.
The intelligence and insight of of MadMen is just over the heads of so many.
MadMen is so historically accurate, in every way. They get the dress, the props, the social issues, a woman's role in the time period of the late 50s and early 60s so right on. It captures advertising, marketing an design only of the agency atmosphere, but corporate marketing departments. It presents the social/political/work place reality of the times without fanfare, and often captures them all in just one line delivered by one actor.
Those of use who lived through this, especially if you worked in marketing, or advertising design get it. This kind of stuff was still going on in the 70s.
The actors are great. This year they have developed the role of Draper's daughter who is a very good young actor. The female role of Don Drapers wife: the perfect beautiful, stay-at-home mom, who supports hubby, but is depressed and detached emotionally form her children so right on.
comparing Beck to Joe McCarthy, does teh est job exposing what Beck is really doing. Unfortunately today we have no Edward R. Mural to expose Beck's an the right's lies.
McCarthy believed in his anti communist rhetoric, Beck is just an entertainer out to make money, but a dangerous one. He gives the voice of the new anti government right.
The republican right are using the same fascist tactics as Hitler. They rally against socialism & communism, accusing Obama of anti government tactics and an enemy of the state. The NAZI did this to Jews and other groups (gays, feminists, educated(elite) in Germany and accused them of being the problems for economic failures, being commuinist, socialist, and the enemy of the state. When the real enemy were those making the accusations.
Beck's rants reflect the far rights new rhetoric that Obama is a socialist, communist but of course the mob demonstrating has ignorantly mixed in Fascism and NAZIs which are both in direct opposition to communism and socialism.
The far right, in the U.S. like the far right in Germany (NAZI) is the real enemy of the state.
Now we know why Beck fit into FOX so well... FOX it the biggest ZOO on TV. This whole format has degraded radio and TV. teh emergence of right talk radio continues to appeal to disfunctional conservative white males who still can't figure out where they fit in...fear!!!
wrong.
Mot corporations are now requiring employees 65 to go on Medicare, and they only provide the supplemental plans necessary as Medicare does not cover everything. You need a supplemental plan to cover services not covered by medicare. Most people just don't understand how Medicare works.
My husband, self employed, over 65 still works full. He went on Medicare. He pays premiums based on our income ( $325.00 for 2 months of Medicare,) Plus $350 every 2 month months coverage Blue Cross J Plan. We chose not to get him a D prescription drug plan as he only takes one prescription and we figured out it was cheaper to pay out of pocket for it, than pay the Pan D insurance premiums. My Blue Cross agent told me before the republicans passed their famous Plan D program for Medicare that their Plan J included prescription coverage for the same price as my husband pays without prescripotn coverage. You have to be lucky enough to be able to afford this or go on Medicaid.
I am 63, retired and receiving SS but because I was also self employed, so in additon to my husband Medicare and supplemntal isurance we have to pay $714 per month for my idiv. health insurance per month, with a $7,500 deductabe per year a $40 cop-pay, and anotherr $500.00 deductable for presriptions, no dental care.
Lucky for us, both of us are very healthy, and can afford this.
Those of us who self employed and healthy are paying 3 times the premiums to support those on governemnt and corporate plans.
However I support a pubic option. I know so many people from other countries who love their health care system, and just don't get why the U.S., which claims to be so great, wealthy and productive cannot give their citizens affordable transportable health insurance.
