  • Clinton's spouse?

[Read the article: Candidates' wives "scootch in" closer ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Speaking of spouses. Many people I know who are going to vote for Hillary, are voting for Hillary because they are either going to get Bill, or they count her expierence as the spouse of Bill as her ' leaderhship experience". Go figure.

  • Obama in tough spot

[Read the article: Pam Spaulding for Glenn Greenwald: Obama zapped by the third rail of black homophobia]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Obmam is for taking a stratgy of listenng to hter eopels views and not palnting his feet firmly in divisive pltics. He bleives in sprecting ther views, even if he diasgrees with them. I am sure he will be albe to pull off a good repsonse to it all.

The term "is he black enough" is just a CODE word for 'He is black"!

  • "liberal bias"

[Read the article: Journalism and its discontents]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Nations fail when they are swallowed up by : Religious intolerance, military might, and dumbing down of a population.

"Liberal bias" was first coined on Pat Robertson's Christian Broadcastig Network(CBN)in the late 80s to justify the misinformation on CBN. Since the lose of the "fairness and accuruacy" in the media law, the rise of right misinformation network has increased, and their "liberal bias media", and 'liberal elites" rehtoric is on the rise. Fox's O'Reilly, CNN's Dobbs, FOX radio's Rush along wht others consistently use "biased liberal media", "liberal eltites" to justify their misinformation. A few days ago I turned into daytime, something I never do. I wantd to to check on the San Diego fires. As I cruised around MSNBC, FOX, CNN and local stations, I was amazed by the lack of intelligence, info entertainment, down right ranting, and sleeze. Angry rants from FOX & CNN's Dobbs about "liberal elites". I was horrfied when I heard a comment from female news anchor: " Thats's WAY better". Then I flipped again to FOX where some nut was making comparison of candidates with the words "worse", "worsser", "worstest" next to thier photos. Where are the grammer checks?

Journalism on a whole has declined in this country and I think it is a reflection of the broader society. TV is filled with reality shows, sob stories about personal issues, celebrity dancing, info-entertainment, and editorals presentd as news. All this has replaced quality journalism and programming. There are very few good TV anchors left, and Newspapers are riddle with news from generation who cannot even write a good paragraph. It's going to get worse when the "No Left Behind", generation of test takers, hit the air waves.

  • CA Polls

[Read the article: Clinton goes after Obama on Iran]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Polls in CA show Obama inching up on Clinton since August.

Declaring another's governments milirty a teroist group is somehting new. Bush saber rattliing statements yesterday in regard to Iran, prove he got what wanted from Senate. I'm not sure HRC's stance with Iran would be much difernt.

  • Obama listens to all

[Read the article: Obama: Don't pander to homophobes]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

What separates Obama from other candidates is is willingness to listen to sll sides of any issue without compromising his own positions. He has done this on many other issues, why not gays and Lebisans. He chooses not to be divisive and show respect for both sides of many of the divisve social issues. You can make much more proegress if you have a chance to talk rationally to other side instead of planting your feet frimly in the mud. tha t is wht Obama does best. He'll do more gay rights thtn any other candiate. Obmam-Dodd. Now there is a dream ticket.

  • Don't believe pollster.com

[Read the article: Is Hillary running away with the race?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

"But a strong case can be made that these polls are not as definitive as they seem..

Right. Don't beleive any polls coming out of pollister.com.

I tried taking a presdiential poll on pollister.com and the form would not let me check the candidate I wanted. After I hit Democrat button and the Democrat candidate's names came up Hillary's name was already selected. It would not let me change the selection to the canddate I wanted, so I quit the poll.

  • IAnoymous really working for Obama?

[Read the article: Obama: Don't pander to homophobes]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

If your supporiting Obama and working as an activistson his for his campaingn, then why are you putting him down? If you are really working on his campaign, then should take it to the organizers, maybe they are not aware fo your concerns.

Some how the rhetoric in Anoymous' letter sounds rather coded and raccist to me. "Ideal" vs. 'working" class" blacks, vs white. Sounds like something a white racist would say. We should be way beyond this by now.

This white women, inolved for many years in women's issues won't vote for Hillary, just becasue she is a woman. Engaging in idenitity politics does not work well, as you just cannot sterotype race, gender, sexual orientation, or religion.

  • Gas milage & Tyoytos

[Read the article: Who needs a Prius anyway?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I'm amazed at how much gas milage has actually gone up since the 80s, not down. I once owned a 1986 Toyoto Celica. I got 34-36 in town. We took it on a trip to teh midwest up the rockey mountians and got 50 miles per gallon. Besides it was heaveier and larger than today's models had acelleration power. That is the key to a good hybred now. Besides saving gas, does it acellerate when you get in the freeway. In addtion Toyotos have a reputation for lasting a long time. That why they are getting the atention. My husband had a 1988 Toyoto Camrey. He drove it for 300,000 miles.

  • Typical

[Read the article: Another election fiasco in Florida?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

It is so typical of the Democrats to have a chance to win big then screw it up with petty differnces. The DNC needs to clear this up quickily with boht FL and MI. They have fallen right into the republican trap.

As far as voting mahcines. There is no reason why districts cannot get voting machines that give you a receipt.

I just don not beleive all the hype about fraud and voting machines. Counting ballots by hand could be just as tricky.

Many counties across the contry already have coputerized voting machines that give receipts. It is possible.

Face it GORe lost, quit blaming it on chads. It was the lack of voters.
