Right on Joan

However...behind the racism and the sexism against Obama and Clinton there is also a well-funded, well-oiled slime machine whose real goal is blocking any Democrat of any race or gender who tries to adjust the rules of the game to help the have-nots and take a little bit away from the have-a-lots. That's what's really going on, and racism and sexism are just handy means to that end.

-- Joan Walsh

Yes the right has not problem using both racism and sexism to rile up the middle and working class to rally against their own best interests. Dick Army benefits from republican tax cuts, but most of those at the tea bag rallies do not. You tea bag protesters are all just pawns for the a bigger power. Unless your making over $250,000 a year you are not benefiting from republican backed tax cuts.

-- Old Joe good news

If this happens - there will not be enough jail cells to house all the conservatives who will drop their coverage.

I guarantee you - I will be the first to go to jail with a flag that says "Don't Tread On Me"!

-- Old Joe

This is the best news I have hears in months... Conservatives going to jail.

Why would you be so stupid as to drop your health insurance? What is the point?

Yes, he DID run to the right of Nixon on communism -- as evidenced by the fact that he invaded Cuba, as I've said before.

-- virtue001

You desperately need a lesson in history. Yes Kennedy was an ardent anti commuist. He however did not plan an invasion of Cuba The "bay of pigs' invasion of Cuba, was a covert CIA operation that Kennedy stopped. In fact some of the Watergate Plumbers were involved in the Bay of Pigs plot, and are not right wing radio hosts. I still believe it was the CIA who had Kennedy killed. Is assasin certainly was no left winger.

Nixon was right of center, he a a paranoid, but certainly not as far right as today's republican party.

The latest NYT CBS poll shows 65% polled favored a public option in health care reform similar to Medicare.

The fact is, supporting the Obama agenda means spending trillions while the economy continues to fall apart...virtue001

Were were the right's cries against Bush when he ran up this BIGGEST deficit in history which Obama inherited. Where were the cries from the right when increase employment was flat and decreased during Bush's 8 years in office. Where were the cries of the right when Bush spent Billions an unnecessary war in Iraq?

Why do working class and middle class on the right not realize they get no benefits from the republican tax cuts, and that republican have NEVER done any thing for the working and middle class? The middle class has been in decline since Reagan took office. It's the TAX cuts for the that have ruined us.

IN the 60 & 70s the upper 2 % paid 70% in taxes. They now pay 35%. IN the 50s & 60 it was even higher % and this nation prospered.

This nation is not on a decline because of Obama who has not even been in office a year. It is the result of right dumbing down our educational system, NO Taxes, to much power by corporations, no pubic health care system, unsupported public pention system. WE will lose our ability to compete with other nations if we do not change this.

Why is it wealthy liberals do not mind paying taxes to help ohers and conservatives do?

I voted for Obama and I've been hugely disappointed with him on the vast majority of today's issues. In my view, he's moved so far to the center-right that his campaign promises and rhetoric sound far different than is actual actions.

--------

Where were you during during the campaign? Obama is a progressive but was never a leftie. He is not as center right as Hillary, but he has always very pragmatic in his policies. He pretty much following the camaping he laid out. He has been in offices less than a year. Obama's poll numbers are still higher than any other president.

Progress does not happen over night it happnes increments, and with compromise.

I think Hillary would have been subjected to much of the same attacks by the right as they just cannot get over they lost. There are many racist on the right, and they cannot get over a black man won and won big.

She was not a child

Let's first quit calling her a child. A 13 year old is not a child. Why was 13 year old alone at a party with him the first place? Where was the mother? Why was the mother allowing her daughter to be with Poloannksi alone? He should have stayed here and fought the case instead of running, as he would have probably been aquited. I'm not defending him, but you need to ask all the questions. NO means, no, and don't get yourself in these situations,or let your daughter get in these situations. As I recall at the time the public had little sympathy for mother and daughter.
