Its the juck food

We have had an incredible increase in processed food since the mid 1950s, and young people eat much larger portions of food, and much of it is junk. In the 50s and 60s what is now a medium drink was consdered a large. Look at all the people running around drinking JUMBLE drinks loaded with sugar or even worse, sugar substitutes. The fast food cooked in gresee covered with layers of shake and bake and then topped with loads of dressings. Even those who think they are eatng well by eating a large salad, then topping them wiht loads of caloire laden dressing. How about those so-called healthy subs with 3 inch thick rolls. Look at the LARGE plates of food served in resturants. My husband and I are amazed at how LARGE young peole in there 20s & 30s are today. Look at news reels from 30, 40, 50 60,70s and you will see much fatter people in the general public are no than previous generations. All the fat and "buff" muscle is storing up toxins.

Or Maybe nature is trying to tell us somehting. There are too many people on this planet, so nature is taking care of it. Unfortunately man is interfering with this adjustment by deveoping invetro fertilzation. Or maybe, just maybe, the superior gender(women)are taking over.

Hate crimes

I support gays rights and gay civil unions. I do wonder though how is a "hate crime" differnt for any other crime agansit a person? Yes I do understand, a crime may have been committed because a person was black, white, gay etc., but don't current laws provide for prosecution of crimes of assault and murder? Do you really think passing a law that states it was "hate" crime is going to change those who are already deeply prejudice in law enforcment. How do you distinguish between a "crime" and a "hate' crime? Isn't a crime a crime? Are we assuming every assault or murder aganist a LGBT is a "hate" crime? I think instead of passing these kinds of laws, already coverd under law, the the community should be putting ther energy into educating the pubic and making sure the current laws are prosecuted period.

It kind of remnds me of PETA which started out protecting animals being abused in sceintific experiments, then expanding their casue to include animals that exist because they are bred and raised for the specfic purpsoe to be killed and eaten. Don't get me wrong I don't mean to deminish the rights and dignity of LGBT by this compariosn. My compariosn is just an example of how a movemennt goes beyond the orginal purpose.

Rights for all

We sholdn not even have to be argung who is included or excluded in this Democrcy. Everone should have the same rights. Maybe abandon all the Acronyms. Form a new group which includes everyone and name it AERA... Americans for Equal Rights for ALL.

Equal right Amendment for women

The Congress has NEVER ratified the Euqal Rights Amendment, for women, however many of the rights for women included in the the orginal eaual rights amendment have been passed incrementally over the years.

Remeber lay- a -way

I remebber the days when major credit cards did not exist.

My parents has a charge account at somee store, but it was paid off monthly. Women were denied credit cards until after the WF suit in mid sventies. I oten bought cloths on a system called lay-a-way. You put a 1/3 down, agreed to pay the rest over 3 months and lost your original payment if you did not meet the payments. The stores did not loose out and it made people more finacially responsible.

We used to pay by check for our air fare through an agent. In 1992, we were almost not let on our fightout of NY because our ticket said paid 'cash'. The person at the ticket counter questioned us in front of everyone for 10-15 minutes, then sent us through a special secruity screening. We started using our credit card after that to book flights. Now you can't even write a check for a ticket. In fact if you try to write a check anywhere you are suspect.thnk god for ATM cards.

Don't watch FOX

Just refuse to watch FOX. Democrats should not give FOXthe time of day. The wole point of every interview on FOX is to twist the interviews. They never stick to the subject and they intentionally try to trip people up. They should not even count in jounalism or as a News organization. I lke nacy pelosi, but her comments wre pretty lame. She is a devout Cathloic so she probalby does pray a lot. God knows bush needs many prays.

WE are stewards

Humans are stewards of the earth. Yes, there are certian elments in nature for which we have no control over. However, we do have control over our ownhabits of consumption, greed and fertilty habits. During World War 2, citiznes made a common sacrifice, not just in those who served in the militry, but all citzense rationed materials, food ect.

This is waht we need now A common sacrifce to prot the enviroment. We need a leader who soes not spout doomsday predictions, but a leader who can inspire all of us to work for the ocmmon good of humanity and the earth.

Everyone can start by consuming less, taking public transit, buyng fuel efficent cars, taking public transit more often, and the bigget help would be producing fewer on no off spring.
