Isn't a pedophile someone who molests children and cannot stop. I don't condone Polanski's behavior but he is not a pedophile, might not even be a rapist.

This girls' mother set up the photo session for her daughter with Polanski. Polanski is accused of taking advantage of a 13 precocious young woman. She was not an innocent child. He admitted he had sex with her, but claimed he did not know she was under age. At any rate even when this happened many would not boycott his movies, so don't expect it to happen now. He should have stayed here and fought it, but he chose not to. Now he must pay the price.

The woman involved now does not want the publicity and does not want to press charges. All those organizations should respect her privacy and back off.

Most of the people defending Polanski knew the opportunistic mother, the precocious 13 year old teen, and Polanski at the time this happened. Their perspective is based on the circumstances at that the time, right or wrong. Many at the time thought the mother was using her daughter to gain money from Polanski.

Evey religion has had their won version of the bible for centuries. I remember the Catholics didn't like he King James versions and vice versa. Of course the Catholic church interpeted the bible for us, but now I understand they have gotten into bible study just like the evangelicals. We had a Catholic bible in our living room. I never remember anyone reading it. It only got touched when moved for dusting. I only looked at it in high school theology class. My mother bought me a cheaper bible because she did not wanting me touching the nice large bible with the gold leaf pages.

I remember the Catholic bible as a well written piece of fiction. A few years ago I saw one of those evangelical versions. They have DUMBED down the bible and re-invented it to meet their strange take on Christianity.

What is so remarkable about the new Jesus freaks on the right is they more often use the Old testament to justify their hate filled religious beliefs than the true teachings of Jesus. Jesus was a community organizer, working to even the playing filed for the poor, long before Obama made the term popular. Jesus was a socialist before the term was defined in the 19th century.

I've never even heard the Obama administration mentioning the recent terrorists case, or creating any fear around it either. Glenn your the one creating fear and paronia.

The Obama administration in no ways is continuing Bush policies.

My husband adn I have alwasy been self employed and are high income earners. We pay much more for ehalht insurance thtn the general public, and yet we are very healthy.

I am now retired, but not yet old enough for Medicare. My husband still works, but went on Medicare to save us costs some premiums. We now cannot be on the same insurance plan. He pays premiums of $325 for 2 months Medicare(based on his income) and another $325 for 2 months for a supplemental BC J-plan. He chose not to get a drug plan which cost another premium.

I stayed on the BC PPO, with a combined $1500 & $3,000 co-pay deductible plan we had together, and took him off. The first year the premiums reduced. Over a 2 year period the premiums for just me came up to almost what we were paying for 2 of us. They were raising my premiums 2 times a year. This Last year my monthly premium went up almost 200 to $914 per month. Plus my deductible and up ya went up to %6000 (a 2000 increase). Blue Cross Anthem offered transition other plans without a physical.

So I chose to go with a plan $714 per month, but has a $7500 deductible, and a separate %500 deductible for prescriptions. A $40 co-pay for visits. I had no other choice. I never have meet my deductible anyway, as I am healthy.

Blue Cross had me in a bind as Even though I am healthy I would have had to have a pysical to switch to another company.

We can afford to pay for our insurance. I know many other couples in this situation whose husbands are on Medicare, not working,their wives are also retired, but not yet 65.

When you reach 50 your premiums will alost double, then sky rocket again when you hit 60.

The AMA has come out in support of a public option. The majority of doctors in the U.s. support a pubic option. It is the large insurance companies fighting this.

1. It was the republican under BUSH who wanted to privatize Social Security to 401Ks. If this has happened those on SS today would have had their payments reduced.

2. It was republicans that gave those on Medicare the new expensive Medicare Drug plan with the large donut hole.

3. It has been republicans in the past 10 years who have proposed reducing Medicare payments to doctors and cutting out other services.

Now suddenly republican are pretending to defend Medicare from what they call "Obamamcare". Yet all the current reform bills deal with reducing Medicare waste but not reducing payments to doctors.

Right wing republicans are frauds.
