very scary people

My husband's niece's husband is a contractor in Iraq. I find this guy very scary. He was an MP in the Marines, then had a job for customs police and then the baorder control. He was unable to keep any of these jobs, now he works as a security contractor in Iraq. He is a racist and agressive. These are the kinds of people working for these contractors in Iraq. We used to call them

Mercineries.

Sorry but I agree wtih Bill

I think if a nursing mother is going out in pubic you should just pump some milk to take with you. After all working mothers do it all the time. The point of nursing is that mother's milk is suppose to be healther. Of course if you want to be healthier you should nnot be going to Applebys.

Unplanned pregnanices the problem

Can't women read? Where is teh responsiblity of the woemn taking these drugs. Every precription comes with a detaliled instrctuction explaining the the potential risks. Most of these risks are mimnimal compared to the consequences of not takng the drugs, or chainging life habits. It seems if women are taking these kinds of drugs maybe they should not be getting pregnant anyway. Unplanned pregnancies is the biggest problem in this nation. With the enviromental crisis upon us we should be encouring women not to have children or limit them to 2.

If women cannot take contraception, the best thing is a tubligation.

PP prevents theneed for abortions

Since many local bubble laws have been passed to prevent the outrgeious harassment of women, violent protests and bombings of PP clnics by pro-life groups, thses groups have changed their tactics to prevent the upgrading or opening of new clinics. If the antis are really against abortion they should be supporting PP as they help women prevent unplanned pregnancies. Something the so-called pro-life organizations do not do.

Planned Paretnhhod provides a valuable serivces to women and men who have no other means to obtain reproductive health services: regualr checkups,-pap smears, STD testing, contraception conseling, prenatal care, well baby care, teen parenting classes, and yes even referrals to adoption. From the 10% of servicies devoted to abortions, some clinics less than that, over 90% are performedd in the first 8-12 weeks. Yet the antis conitualy call these health clincs "murder mills".

The antis rant about later term abortions (after viablity) and even made up names for it, but the turth is very few late term abortions were ever perfromed in this coutnry. NO new laws were needed or are needed to late term pregnancis as under Roe v. Wade after vialbity (third trimesters) abortions were only allowed to save the life or health of a of a woman. Since the so-caled "partial birth Ban" was upheld by the S. C now women's reproducitve health can now be disregarded. Only .0004% abortions were ever performed in late term, and certanily not at PP clinics.

If you believe in abortion is murder, then don't have one. I just don't get why people need to stick their noses in the choices and reproductive privacy of others.

Reproductive rights inlcudes birth control

"When feminists spend as much time promoting birth control and reproductive responsibility as they do abortion rights, I'll be convinced feminism is a fair and equal movement."

...they do

Whoever posted the above statment obviusly does not understand what is really going on around the reproducitve rights movement. It is in fact the so-called pro-life (antis) who wrap every family planning issue around abortion. It is the antis who attept at every opportuntiy to prevent access to contraception. It is the antis who vote agnist International family planning, based on abortion, not pregnancy prevention. It is the antis who promote misinformed "abstenience only" sex education over medically accurate " comprehesive" education. It is antis who fight agnist coverage of contraception under health care plans. It is the anits who try to get pharmacies not to give out Plan B emergency contraception.

However no one should ever be ashamed or afraid to defend the right to legal abortion, as it a "privcy rights" issue and central to a woman's civil liberties. "We Decide"!

Waht if?

Since the majority of middle class and wealthy woemn get their abortions at their own OBGYN offcies, at a mich higher cost than PP, I wonder what would happen if the so-called pro-lifers started protestng ourside the offices of OBGYNs. Harassing women making personal medical decisions is much different than protesting a war.I have seen preganant women going into PP clnics for pre-natal care being harassed, pushed and shoved by Pro-life protestors. My niece got harassed a few years ago when she was going to her dentist's office which was next to a PP clinic. She was going to get her tooth extracted so she baited the ever uninformed Pro-Lifers by saying, "Yes, I getting it pulled out, it is really hurting me, and I cannot stand having it in me another minute." They follwed her harassed, shoved literatire in her face. She entered the dentist's office waved and smiled. She made her point.
