Critcs of Democrats don't get it

Like many of you one of my friends just does not understand why the Demcorats appear not to be doing anything about Iraq. Stop blaming Pelosi and Reid, They already took a vote last summer and Bush vetoed it. They tried. Demcortas need a veto proof majority to stop this war and funding, and they they don not have it. Democratgs barely have a majority in the House and Seante. They cannot stop his war with just need a majority vote, they need a 60 - vetro proof votes. Many Repblicans are with the Democrats for a gradual pull out. However there are still enough rabid right republicans in Congress to stop this form happening and Bush is too stubborn.

This is my prediction. Bush will pull out the extra 30,000 next summer, then before jsut before the elections, they will pull out most of the remaining troops, decalre a victory, even if there is none, and dump all this on the New administrtion.

Yes

Bush is stubborn enough to nominate Olson. In the past president's floatd names to get the reaction fromthe members of the senate judicial committee and would take their advice in advance of hearings. However Bush is so unreasonable and stubborn he goes aganist any good advice.

The Wire!!!

The "Wire" and is one of the Best HBO dramas and one of TVs best.

"Deadwood" is a good second. I was amzed at the shows gettng emy nomnations. Grays Anatomy is so o o o bad. My daughter brought a DVD on one vist of this series. I reluctanty watched them. The acting is bad and so is the story line reminded me of the daytime soap Operas the under educatd used watch in the 60s.

The new series MadMen is good.

Our these real situatuions

I have never been able to figure out why any woman or man would move 4000 miles to be with someone without some commitment.

It is obviious to me that her ex had a thing going wiht this woman long befor the break-up. She should stop feeling sorry for him. Chaulk it up to a learning experience and move on. She is young enough to move back to be close to her family and friends or explore somewhere else. Forget this guy. She needs to get her get her career going, be independent, then find a good ralationship. She is too young to be stuck wiht one guy now. Have fun, play the field.

Original article: So long, white boy

Stop sterotyping

Many of Bill Clinton's vote came from pro-choice women, both Democrat and Republican. Not sure you can say white union voters black votrs, hispanic voters, women voters are going to vote in one massive block. If polticians and the voters would justt quit listening to these pollster and advisors we would all be better off. Right now I'm not sure anyone both Democrat or Repulbican are sure how they are going to vote. I have been talking to many of my friends and they are all over the map and inconsistent with who I thought they would be supporting. I know many peole on the fence between either Hillary & Obmama, Hillary and Edwards, or Edwards and Obama. One couple who are friends and I consider both the husband and wife to be traditionalist when it come to female/male roles are voitng for Hillary. I assume they would vote for Edwards. They are going to vote for Hillary because they think she is intelligent, but also they will get Bill too, which I consider sexist. They won't vote for Obama becasue they consider him"not experienced" which I think this is an excuse for not voting for him because he is Black. Many assume Blacks are just natually going to vote for Obama, yet many blacks I know are split between Hillary, Edwards and Obama, some are on the fence. Many of my friends assumed I would vote for Hillary because I am a feminist. Yet I am voting for Obama. My moderate republican friends are have no one to vote for. It is still up for grabs.

Best we can hope for

Mukasey was on a list Democrats suggested. You canot expect a right wing adminstration to appoint a liberal. The AG office is suppose to be independent of politics. Mukasey is a best hope for the reander of teh Bush administration. He will be gone early in 09 anyway.

White weeding dress & 50 virginity craze

Anyone can look back at pictures of thier ancetors in 1800s and erly 1900s and see they did not wear white wedding dress. The Big white dress became very popular in the upper classes then the middle in the 50s when the conservative virginity movement was afire. A fancy white wedding dress and lots of brides maides was sign of prosperty, purity and virginity. However many still brides went to the later already preganant. Even in the 1800s the majority of women gettng married were already pregnant. One only has to look the wedding date and then the date when the first child was born and it becomes very clear.

Parading pregancy around in a white wedding dress is absurd.

Getting pregnant and then and parading it seems to be a fad these days.

Wire

The Wire is the best show. It has the best actors by far. Also Deadwood is a great show. What ever happend to Carnival. I loved it. I got into the Sopranos teh last 2 eason and but enjoyed it but still think the Wire is better. Of course "Six Feet Under" was excellent.

The new HBO sereis "Tell Me That You Love Me" is god awful.
