The most disturbing aspect of the Bush presidency is the

extent to which he has brought religion and his brand of faith into politics, and the lack of outrage from the public in regard to the constant violations of separtion of church and state. I saw this coming. The Religious fantics now have thier man in the white House. Bush represents the worst of religious faith.. the "born agains" who had many failures in life being "saved" by JC from alchol, drugs, sex fraud and/or various other problems. They find God, then blame godless liberals for all the problems in the U.S. Bushes "Win" premise on Iraq is based on the the fullfillmentt of the radical "end world" religios beliefs.

Oh God please "take them in the rapture" and leave us in peace,

and sanity.

We once had a very nice old therater that that often ran double feature Berman moives. If you can imagine wathc 2 in a row.

Sometime they ran them with other films.Try watching Berman's "Persona", followed by Altmans. "3 women".

Or 2 Berman's "Seven Seals" and "Crys and Whispers".

The long full TV version of "Fannie and Ålexandra" is definitly better. I remember taking my 16 year old daughter to "Frannie and Alexandra" when it was first realesed. When the movie was finished she asked "What was that all about". I suggested she watch it agian now that she is older. I sugest viewing Bergman's films at differnt points in your life and you will see them differntly at each point. I am planning to rent a few to watch agian.

Bergman is differnt for all othrs in that he dug deeply into human emotions and fears of death, and marriage. Except for "Frannie and Alexandra" Bergmn did not let others interfear witrh his orginal ideas.

The CA budget is now on hold as the conservative Republicans in the CA Senate has rebelled aganist Arnold and refuse to sign on to the budget, and are about to go on summer vacation and leave the state wihtout money to spend. Seems as if Arnold needs some PR help again.

Do boggers really vote? If teh do not boter in teh pirmary, then their opinons mean nothing. If all bloggers can do is rant online but not vote, the their rants are meaninless in teh real world.

Those who critize Hillary for vutng for the war, need to think back to the atmopshere created by the republican incontrol at teh time of the vote. Acquring good judgement in politics starts with knowing when to admit your msitakes. that would be Hillary. I saw Novak speaking on CSAN last night to a gorun of young conservatives. He is a very negative person. I was not impressed.

I first heard the term "biased liberal media" on Pat Robertson's CBN in 1990. Novak says the media is run by liberals, but since the early 1990s we have seen a rise in right wing raido and conservative comentators the likes of O'Reilly espousing thier far right conservative views and half truths in the media, and presenting them as fair and balanced.

A good journalist does not let his/her conservative or liberal view bias ther reporting. Those journalist who have "opinion" colunms do. However today's conservative media mixes opinion with reporting and makes no distiction between the two. CNN is hardly a bastilion of liberalism. Just look at the political anyalists CNN uses after debates. These consultants and jounalist can hardly be called liberal.The new conservatives do not like "fairness and accuracy" or balance in the news, so they call every balanced news based on facts, "liberal bias".
