What another not so new conspiracy
[Read the article: "Brothers"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]It sems this lastest Kennedy conspiracy is just a rehash of past theories. Better time could spent investigating all the corrupiton of the current adminstration.
I remember Gueroaldo (SP) traveling around the country speaking at colleges promoting Kennedy conspiracy theories in the eary 70s. Once I too believed that the mafia and the CIA must be in cahoots. I however have moved beyond that. There is no new smoking conspraicy guns. You can however connect the policy dots between many operatives who keep reappearing over the years (i.e.) McCarhty > Nixon,> Bay of Pigs CIA > Watergate Plumbers> Born agains....
For those who do not get the Kennedy worship, it is hard ot expalin. I was a senior in high school when Kennedy was assassinated. We adored him. I still rememer every moment of the day he was assasinated and the days to follow. If it had only been Jack I think the conspiracy theories may have gone away faster. However when the real heros, Bobby and Martin, were shot, the long Veitnam Conflict, and then Nixon. This all gave rise to a generation of cynics. It seems we need some new heros of change.
Whether Kenedy would have got us out of the Veitnam Conflict he inherited is questionable.
He was after all an ardent anti- communist. Kennedy's greatest moment was preventing a conflict with Russia by queitly mobilizing forces, then using diplomacy instead of force to negotiate the Cuban missle crisis. Too bad we don't have his kind of brains and experience in the White House today.

Let's get the facts straight
[Read the article: "Brothers"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]In response to.
"The only thing we really know about the assassination, 40 years later, is that the Warren Commission Report did not answer all the questions to everyone's satisfaction, and that Warren Commission member Gerald Ford became our first unelected president, further complicating matters to wring the truth out of government archives."
I say this commentator needs a little lesson in history. Vice President Ford was NOT the first person not directly elected to president. There have been many Vice Presidents , even wives of US Presdents who took over the office of President long before Ford.
For instance. Vice President Lyndon Johnson took the office of president when Kennedy, was asssnated in November 1963. Johnson was not "elected" to the office of presdent until 1964. Vice presdent Ford stepped into the presidency after Nixon resigned because even the Republican in congress voted to impeach Nixon. The line of power is; President> Vice President> Speaker of the House. This is why it is not a good reaso to try to impeach Bush.
We would be left with Cheney.

Ruby's mafia connnections
[Read the article: "Brothers"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Ruby's mafia connections he never been confrimed with facts. Although it is possibel he was a wise guy. Most police and news reporters in Dallas did not think it was unusal for Ruby to show up at the scene when Oswald was brought out. Ruby operated a second rate strip club and had a reputation in Dallas as pubicity seeking hound. He had apparently showed up many times in the past when the News Media was covering a hot story in an attempt to promote his club. It ws also NO mystery when the Dallas police were bringing out Oswald.
The new media knew and they were all there. I saw Oswald shot on live TV.
There was not as much security in those days. As for Tipits behavior.
Not unusal in the ealry 1960s.

reponse to watermelon
[Read the article: "Brothers"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I woild like to think that Kennedy woudld have gotten us out of Vietnam. It sure he he wanted to do, but the question is whether would have really hapened. Yes we were coming out of the McCarhty era. Kennedy was a Jr Senaotr who aopposed McCarhty's tactics, while Nixon worked on McCathy's committee.
Yes,Kennedy might have wanted to buld realations with Cuba. If we had built realations with Cuba, it would be a Democracy today. What everyone seems to forget is we helped Castro into power.
Like I said before Kennedy inherited Veitnam from Eisenhower.
It started as a CIA covert opertion. Yes Johnson esculated the war, wich is ironic becasue Goldwater ran as the war Hawk in 1964. I could not vote in 1964 as I was not yet 21, but I remember many conversations with republicans at college about Johnson vs. Goldwater. We all thought Johnson was going to to get us out too.
