Anonymous right on

"Email creates a false sense of urgency in our lives and careers. The trick is to manage this beast so it does not consume us with an uneeded layer of tasks that become an end in themselves."

You are so right on.

Unfotunately hign tech companies now require their managers to do tasks that were once handled by admistrative employees. Early on in the computer age, we had created logos/branding for a high tech company. The product manager we were working with needed a logo formated for Power Point (UGH) presentation he was creating. He knew little about the program, asked us to help. I have alwasy refused to work in Power Point as it is not a design tool and is garbage. I could not believe that a manager had to waste his time creating his own presentions.

To me this is just non-productive.Unfortutely this is the norm today. How mnay employees spend time doing actual productive work vs. answering e-mails. I also think quick responses lead to many bad decisions that then need hundreds more e-mails to correct.

To Sayitlikeitis

So you want to Say it Like it is:

1. There were no WMDs in Iraq.--Bush Cheney manipulated the intelligence. FIRST LIE

2. Sadamn had nothing to so with 9/11. Still a LIE

3. The U.S. has created a training ground for terrorists in Iraq that did not exist before our invasion.

4. However biggest increase in terrorist training

is happening in Pakistan (our allies).

5. In 2006 when the Republican controlled congress the only domestic spending bill they passed was for Homeland Security budget. When the Democrats took over in 2007 they had to spend first part of the session passing emergency spending bills, to make up for republican incompetence.

6. Nixon promised he would leave Veitnam in an "Honorable victory". Instead he waited too long and the troops to get out and quickly in a "dishonorable retreat". Better to leave Iraq now. I still remember the TV images of the last helicopter leaving from the top of the U.S. embassy in Saigon as the Veit Cong took over the city. Not a pretty picture. Veitmese people were pounding desperately on the on the locked Embassy gates. Many desperate Veitmese (women and children) were pushed off the last U.S. helicopter as it left the roof, leaving these Veitmese who has supported the U.S. in the hands of the Veit Cong.

Original article: When Republicans attack

Republicans have no g ood candidates

Not surprsing the repubicans are on the attack.

The GOP has no good candidates, and many of the GOP candidates look as if thier argument aganist evolution could be true.

Unfortunately the GOP has allowed thier party to be taken over by

flat earth Christian fanatics, and retro neo cons. They have no vision for the future. The GOP is ignoring the real issues voters care about. Instead they they rant constantly about terrorism, aganist gays, getting rid of ROE, taxes, those terriblel Mexican illegals, and continue to support an unpolular war.

The public is concerend about health care, the environment, education, loosing thier privacy rights, and retirement. Most republicans I know are disgusted with ther party right now, and are non enthusiastic about any of the GOP canadates.

The GOP needs to wake up and value real fmailies instead of thier narrow "family values" agenda.

Good News

This is good news and proves that prevention first, comprehensive sex-ed programs as advocatd by the Pro-choice community is working. If fewer teens are having sex, then it proves the myth perputrted by the antis... access to contratraception and sex ed will increase teen sex... is a bogus theory.

The antis are not so concerend as they want us to believe about pregnancy and abortion and teen's safty. Their real concern is losing control over women. Their new propaganda agenda is "harm to women" whether it is birth control, abortion, or sex.

Cartoonist is an anti

The couple thought through the options and made a choice. It seems obvious to me, that the person who created the cartoon is anti choice. The so-called pro-lifers alwasy use inapropriate images and uninformed messages to present thier case aganist reproductive choice.
