I am so happy someone actually reads Donald Justice. Thanks for one of his really good ones.

  • drobgordon

[Read the article: Don't run, Al. Don't!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

A little American political history would do you good. Vice presidents are always at a disadvantage running for president, Gore had Nader on his left flank, Bush had a 22 point lead going in and an amazing money machine, and Gore still won the popular vote.

Kerry was running against a sitting president during a time of war. He should have lost by 7 points. The conventional wisdom for demoralized dems is always defeatist and self-loathing.

A ticket like Gore-Obama would be really formidable.

And there is nothing wrong with noting that Paglia is just lazy when it comes to politics or science.

  • So, Elephantman

[Read the article: The lies go on and on]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Are you a 'wild-eyed' Edwards hater or one of those tame-ass Edwards haters?

  • The Riches is lots of fun

[Read the article: I Like to Watch]

    and Minnie Driver is breathtaking

  • I'm no expert in cosmology

[Read the article: We are meant to be here]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

but couldn't we argue that if the 'just right' conditions for life had not emerged, then what we would have are conditions 'just right' for whatever we got?

It sounds like the old argument that it MUST BE some intelligent, ultimate source because NOTHING ELSE makes any sense! These laws are just too darned orderly!

  • Whoa, Hornet Driver

[Read the article: "Even Richard Nixon knew it was time to resign"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

time to start reading a newspaper -- I mean a real one.

  • No, No Reaname,

[Read the article: Khamenei: Don't mess with Islamic law]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

it's never America's fault. It couldn't possibly ever be America's fault.

  • Well, Elephantman, I read it twice

[Read the article: Inside the minds of killer doctors]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

and nowhere is there any moral equivalence drawn. There are just a lot of different f'rinstances.

Do you just hate this guy?

  • Researchers make some modest claims about interactions they have seen between

[Read the article: The costs of asking for a higher salary]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

men and women. Broadsheet reports the modest claims. For the 1000sth time, Skeptic and others say 'women studies echo chamber' and 'ohmigod the patriarchy.'

Yeah, I get it. Echo chamber.

  • M Jimison

[Read the article: How strong is the Democratic presidential field?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

There is still time for democrats to vote strategically in the primaries, and still time for Gore to get into the race.

  • You are free to conduct your own study

[Read the article: Roundup: Virtual wives, non-ironic feminism and more]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Peer reviewed or not. Maybe you can study all those competitive, sharp-elbowed women you know. The ones you don't date.

  • After all,

[Read the article: Padilla: Guilty until proved guilty]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

In twenty-first century America, people who worry about torture and the rule of law are pro-terrorist and 'sick puppies.'

I'm surprised Elephantman and Anonymous Coward had to point that out to you dumb libs.

  • @Uston

[Read the article: Under the knife, into debt]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Much as a stupid, threadbare caricature is not an argument.

  • Maybe pit bulls are dangerous

[Read the article: Pit bulls are innocent]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

but they are so damned handsome!

  • A feminist JIHAD?

[Read the article: Roundup: Obama has no love for "Obama Girl"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

    Christ, Brightstar, take a breath.

  • Have to put Frank White on that 2b list

[Read the article: King Kaufman's Sports Daily]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

62 consecutive error-less games, five time all star, eight time gold glove.

  • Yeah, how come nobody ever writes articles about Clinton anymore?

[Read the article: Fred Thompson's revealing back story]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

    I guess 9/11 changed everything.

  • My God! Now the feminists are drinking blood!

[Read the article: Roundup: Salem witches gone wild!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

and eating babies, and lying about rape, and writing columns that hurt my feelings.

  • That analysis doesn't work, Elephantman

[Read the article: Poor, sad Larry Craig]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Senator Craig offered a plea of guilty to a misdemeanor. That is more than just being a closeted homophobe. Now he is a convicted sex offender.

And good luck with the idea that gays will somehow forget they are better off with Democrats.

  • Mr. Walker

[Read the article: The ballad of Ramos and Compean]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

They are law enforcement officers who covered up a crime (thus committing another crime). If they don't go to prison, then there is no rule of law.

  • At best Linney Uston you were inattentive

[Read the article: Girls' suicide rates soar]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

A growing suicide rate in a population is interesting in its own right. And this report notes that the rate of successful suicides for girls is smaller than for boys.

At worst you wrote another bad-faith trolling the Broadsheet post.

  • LOL Groenhagen

[Read the article: Don't believe the surge hype]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Those bullshit comments are right out of central Kansas.

[Read the article: Protests shut clinic on opening day]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Good to know for the future that there will be no disruption of medical services for women if the licensing applications are completed differently. Thanks for the tip!

  • Arlo Figg I kept trying

[Read the article: Al Gore's win, America's loss]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

to give you a serious reading. But it kept coming back to me that you are a tiny little man venting adolescent rage on the Internet and Al Gore is a Nobel laureate.

  • Rush and Ann

[Read the article: Keeping up with GOP flip-floppers]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

    Yeah, they sure know funny.

  • Bill Clinton campaigned with more success than he governed?

[Read the article: What does it really take?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Why are we still being subjected to all of these myths-by-assertion? Is this 'Hardball' with Chris Matthews?

  • Well, it took eight letters before someone

[Read the article: Quote (and debate?) of the day]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

dismissed all of social science. I know that you think it makes you look smart.

  • Protective services workers have extraordinary authority

[Read the article: Somebody sent child protective services to my house!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

They can interview your children without your knowledge or consent and have the authority to temporarily remove children from any home they think is dangerous.

They are usually very experienced, however, with revenge calls and angry neighbor accusations and quickly recognize unfounded calls.

There is no substitute in your situation for legal counsel. You need to consult an attorney immediately.

  • I think SB4609 is correct

[Read the article: Quote of the day]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

At least from the link provided it looks like the judge was speaking in general terms. This story was not really worth a mention in Broadsheet.

  • Hattie I hope you are right

[Read the article: This Modern World]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Otherwise we should start getting used to President Huckabee.

  • Do car insurance companies still

[Read the article: Women are "worst drivers"?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

insure young men and women at different rates? Do the actuarial tables reflect different chances for car accidents?

  • It's not as if he has to fight off the Swift Boaters himself

[Read the article: What now, Obama?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

The strategy for responding to attacks is up to the professionals in the campaign as a team. The Kerry decision to go dark during August, eg, was a collective decision.

Obama will be just as good a candidate as any of the top three.

  • I agree with Dalriadane

[Read the article: I'm a doubting teenager]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

If this is really a high-school student writing this letter then he or she is really well-educated and thoughtful -- already writing much better than the average college student (at least in my classes).

  • I will proudly work and vote for Hillary Clinton

[Read the article: Paris goes big for Hillary Clinton]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

along with 46% of the rest of the electorate.

  • Can someone explain Hillary's route to victory in the general?

[Read the article: The battle for Nevada]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

First, she is perceived as a Northern liberal. Second, what is she going to say to differentiate from McCain on the occupation? Third, can Senator Clinton make it go away by not looking at it --that is -- that half of the electorate is already determined to vote against her no matter who the Republican nominee is? Fourth, what states can she recapture?

I like her. And it makes me sick that every slack-jawed, nephew-goosing hillbilly in Ohio is going to vote twice to make sure she is never president. But there it is. McCain in Ohio by twice the number of Bush in 2004.

  • The number 1 issue will be the economy,

[Read the article: Dead party walking]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

the number 2 issue will be Hillary hatred, the number 3 Issue will be the war. I don't think Clinton will hurt down-ticket races, but winning the White House will be a long shot at best.
