Enemies?
[Read the article: Enemies everywhere]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]To paraphrase a famous quote from Pogo, "I have seen the enemy and he is bUSh! Bush and his minions have lied to all of us 935 times, by count, and HARRY REID is not to be trusted?? HE'S on a par with Putin and Bin Laden?? I would bet that Bush has provably, factully lied more often than Putin and I would guess that he's running pretty close to Bin Laden, if not in lies, at least in arrogance and braggadocio! Just where is this parallel universe where these supposedly educated pundits abide? What really shocks me is that their statements have no basis in reality and yet they speak and write as if their experience is "the way it is." How can any rational, logial, sensient human being be in such denial about the last seven years of history? "The war in Afghanistan is going great!" "The surge is working!" "The economy is strong." "The rich need more and permanent tax cuts!" "Programs for the middleclass and poor need to be cut!" "Social Security is going broke!" "We need to be fiscally responsible (but it's just peachy to spend two TRILLION dollars in Iraq!" "Tax cuts always pay for themselves!" "We have the stongest military in world!" "We're withdrawing troops from Iraq (except we're not)!" "Republicans are the party of fiscal responsibility!" "Republicans support the troops!" Republicans support veterans!" "Republican "programs" (i.e., taxcuts) are good for the 'little guy; blue collar workers; the middleclass!" "Republicans are the party of 'family values!'" And the most ridiculous of all ... "Republicans always tell the truth!" FEEL FREE TO ADD TO THE ABOVE LIST!

WSJ and "Democratic" Senators
[Read the article: The WSJ editorial page lies about our surveillance laws]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I called my "Democratic" senators today (Pryor and Lincoln, AR) to register my strong feelings regarding the upcoming FISA vote. Amazingly, on a vote that is so monumentally important, neither one of them was willing to take a public stand either for or against. Now, I'm 57 years old and I'm not at all naive. What this clearly signals, at least to me, is that both of these "Democrats" will vote with their largest contributors (the telecoms) and are simply vamping until AFTER the vote is taken, hoping that by the next election, we would "fawgettaboudit.". I told their phone lackies that if the senators vote for telecom immunity, it would not be forgotten; that they would never again receive my vote, and that I would work to make sure they were defeated by any reasonable primary opponent. I know it will surprise you to learn that they were clearly "shakin' in their boots!" Yeah, right! I got to "vent" ... that's all ... no more, no less. The system is ABSOLUTELY BROKEN! These "leaders" are not "leaders" at all; they are paid shills for sale to the highest bidder. They will vote as their "masters and commanders" tell them (pay them) to. It's sick, sad, and disgusting!

Party On, Jihadude
[Read the article: Jihadis throw a wild bash over the Protect America Act]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]What do you think is the percentage of possibility that Bushco would allow a terrorist plot, discovered by current eavesdropping efforts, to proceed without interruption just to use it as a political club with which to pummel the Democrats from now until November 2008? I hate to say it, but I believe the chances of such a scenario are rather high, even though I pray I'm wrong. That's what 7+ years of the Bush "leadership" has done to my faith in our government!

Plagiarism?
[Read the article: John F. Kennedy, plagiarist?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]All this fuss about Obama is it is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing.

Stooopid!
[Read the article: House Democratic leadership: not just complicit but also self-destructive]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"...don't they have any strategic instinct at all?"
In a word, "NO!"
As the famous philosopher, Forrest G.W. Gump once said, "Stupid is as stupid does!"

Rezko Pocket Fisherman
[Read the article: The "Rezko" game]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I heard Chris "Tweety" Matthews throw off a line the other night about Obama's "sweetheart deal" re: the lot he bought from Rezko. All the information I've seen and heard indicates that Obama paid fair market value for the land he bought. Do you have any actual facts regarding what was "fair market value" in that area of Illinois and what, precisely, Obama paid for the lot? This is not new, but I'd like to be armed with actual "facts" in order to refute these scurrilous scalywags! Not that facts are of any concern to the Republicans or the press. What they can't prove, they'll simply make up out of whole cloth!

Baaaad Dems!
[Read the article: Targeting bad Democrats]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I live in Arkansas and if a had a few $100,000 bills lying around I'd run against Pryor as an Independent. Since I don't, I wonder how effective it might be for MoveOn or some other progressive organization to run ads in the Democrat Gazette laying out the senator's votes and calling for citizens NOT to vote for ANYONE for senate in Arkansas. If his vote total is significantly diminshed from the last election, maybe he'd get the "hint" and change his reckless, Republican ways! Unlikely, I know, but at least it's ONE WAY for us to register our outrage and disgust!
