bush's brain
[Read the article: George W. Bush, on the couch and naming names]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Tim,
You missed what I consider the spookiest part of Bush's responses: where he calls it "my military." His military? This is the reponse of someone who thinks the military is his toy, his plaything, his to do with as he wishes. Or to use a very old comeback: "Who died and made him king?"

This could explain a lot
[Read the article: I feel your pain]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]It's always infuriated me that conservatives will moan and whine about funding for autism, breast cancer, restless leg syndrome, whatever -- until it happens to them or their family. Then they're relentless in pursuing money. It's like they can't empathize with anyone outside their own bloodline.
Mirror neurons could explain why. It's not that they're completely deficient, but they just don't have the ability to feel anyone else's pain -- and why they mock those of use who can. They're not heartless, they're just mirror-less.

Left's True Colors
[Read the article: Night lands Clinton closer to oblivion]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Who writes your headlines?
I am completely disgusted by the left. Over the last months, on site after site, I have read the vilest, most vulgar, hateful, sexist comments by bloggers and the commenters. Things people should be ashamed to have their mothers read. But then apparently, where Hillary is concerned, anything is fair.
It seems Hillary's main crime is that she did not step aside when a man wanted the job she was "interviewing" for. That's what all the screaming has been about. "She's lost, she's lost!" "Who cares if she's won another state!" "How dare she run against Obama!"
If Obama is the nominee, as seems likely, I'll vote for him in November because this country can't take four more years with a Republican in the White House. But I don't trust him or his supporters. And I won't forget that way too many people in the country think a woman's proper place is on her knees.
I thought Gloria Steinem's comment last year was over the top, but she was right. I cannot believe how much they hate us. The proof is on every blog, left or right.

Thank you, Joan
[Read the article: The other 18 million]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Skimmed the letters, and they are just as vile as I knew they would be. Apparently irony is dead, because so many demanded to be shown where HRC and her supporters had been insulted all the while calling them vacuous b*tches.
Once again, an older woman with years of varied, professional experience goes up for a promotion, only to see it go to a younger, inexperienced man.
Joan, I will bet you a donut that Obama will make only the most token, shallow outreach to "white women" democrats. His handlers will convince him that he will look "weak" to male voters if he does! Gotta slap those girls around to win those NASCAR dads. What does it matter that more women vote than men. Alpha-dog wannabes don't do tea with the ladies. Oh lord, between McCain's macho posturing and Obama's need to prove his manliness, the testosterone levels are gonna be suffocating.

@ the rest of the world ... forget the imaginary 18 million
[Read the article: The other 18 million]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Oh, so we're imaginary, are we? Then I guess it won't matter if we all just stay home in November? Huh?
And for all who keep insisting that Joan is biased. Give me a break, if she had come out for Obama you'd all be praising her clear perception! Her only "bias" is that you disagree with her.

@ john 762
[Read the article: Democrats, put down your swords]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Way to go, john. Insult the people Obama's gonna need come November. Good fence mending, there.

@ organicas
[Read the article: Democrats, put down your swords]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Let's see: part of your argument is that she didn't really get all those votes. Apparently, half the dems didn't prefer her.
She has no right to use her delegates to influence to Democratic Convention agenda like every other candidate before her.
And:
"SHE DIDN'T CONCEDE WHEN SHE WAS LICKED."
Wow. How Freudian.

@ Veruco Salt
[Read the article: Democrats, put down your swords]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I found a troll!
Where are the billy goats?

Schafenfreude
[Read the article: Democrats, put down your swords]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]According to the MSM, earlier this evening Obama met with Clinton. Now, other than having some dark affair, they might be discussing VP slots.
So, all those who have described Hillary as a monster, step up. If "that bitch" did become Obama's running mate, what would you say?
Inquiring minds want to know.

Just the title made me furious
[Read the article: Why Clinton voters will come back to the fold]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]C***st on a crutch! Can you be any more sexist, Walter?
"Empty threat," "over hyped," "vanquished foe," "ruffled feelings," "sore loser[s]," "this is not shaping up as a political year in which anyone will neglect to vote because, say, Whole Foods was having a sale on organic olive oil."
Did you deliberately set out to insult democratic women voters? We are the largest block in the party, you know. In the past weeks, pundits and party prophets have been all a twitter about whether Obama can grab the white, male, NASCAR voters, but obviously no one worries about the little women -- they'll do what we tell them. They always have.
You know what I detest most about Obama? His supporters. If you were a republican troll you couldn't have alienated me more. Once again, you make me wonder why in the world I should vote for Obama when he makes no attempt to rein in assholes like you, or address the sexism that you have so aptly demonstrated.

"Sylvia" did it, too
[Read the article: The end of men]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Years ago, the daily newspaper strip "Sylvia" asked the same question: What would the world be like if all the men disappeared.
Her answer: No crime and lots of fat, happy women.
Works for me.
