I guess Joan Walsh must be thrilled
[Read the article: My girlfriend is a racist]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]to see that the changes she has wrought since she has taken over Salon is now attracting racist neocom scum...which should thrill advertisers no end!

Editor's Choice
[Read the article: My girlfriend is a racist]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]When a Salon editor stars as an overtly racist post or two, it is clear that cronyism isn't just for Washington anymore.
-
I sorely wish
[Read the article: Arnold's big flameout]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]that the current editor in chief of this once great publication would exercise more due diligence when searching for examples of diversity of opinion as she attempts to force out entrenched readers who once felt as stakeholders in Salon, to be replaced by younger, dumber demographics.
As the the Libertarian Party has more columnists hawking their services than actual voters in California, this might be an easier task than it seems.
Still, in the freak show "opinion" mongering, insulting fire fighters for the crime of wanting decent pensions and bashing Democrats for not cooperating with "nice neat" districts....because Republicans can't be bothered to win their own districts when demographic changes comes to pass (forget about redistricting at the time the state constitution mandates it (after a census.)
This compulsion on the part of Republicans (libertarian and jihadist) in California who see their entitlement to be rewarded a "do over" when elections don't give them the result they bought and paid for is getting to be a huge hardship for this state, and is marginalizing Republicans because they can't be bothered to actually take their state party grassroots away from control of the Christian Coaltion.
In the meantime, one does wish Salon would hire an editor in chief less interested "relationship" journalistm, and more interested in bringing back the people who disappeared when Talbot did.
For example, I understand Bob Scheer is at liberty and actually can write a column which reflect opinion, backed up with facts.
Just saying.

Quoting Wittman about Democrats
[Read the article: The Democrats' disarray, the Republicans' delight]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]is like asking Bush his opinion on polls.
Isn't it about time admit that DLC is nothing more than a moderate Republican organization which has been a catastrophic failure at anything other than getting Republicans elected?
-
The Middle is where you end up
[Read the article: Jolting Joe]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]not start out...
And the DLC record of failure to achieve a majority for the Dems in the last 11 years is time enough to figure out something the Republicans already know....positioning the Democratic Party to please moderate Republicans elects nobody.

Brilliant legal maneuver??
[Read the article: Rove's lawyer rolls the dice]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Heresay and...breaching attorney/client privilege?
I guess if you want a mistrial, maybe...
however, from what I read, Luskin's strategy seems be based on Rove appealing a conviction on the basis of incompetent counsel.
Maybe Scherer might want to add some real legal experts to his rolodex.
-
By the way
[Read the article: Jolting Joe]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]whoever Joan Walsh hired to star the letters on Salon is an idiot.
-
Thank you, Wil
[Read the article: The real war on Christmas]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]for this little gem which as clearly and concisely gives us a microcosm of our country today.
I fear this cold civil war we are living with can never be resolved....unless liberals totally capitulate to the madness around us...and cede the battle to the dark side.
Alas, that is not a viable auction, and so there will be those who refuse to take a principled stand will claim that there is extremism on both sides.
Our families are being torn apart. Our country is divided. And every day is a battle for sanity....because it is just too damn easy to win by appealing to the worst instincts of a frightened people.

Conservative Think Tanks
[Read the article: Scooter's soft landing]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]are also known as where unemployed Republicans go to wait for their cushy government jobs to open up....
I still Dan Quayle is still on the payroll of the Hoover Institute....

Hatin'Ayelet
[Read the article: I was conned by JT Leroy]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Readers, stop hatin' on Ayelet! Her stories are not intended to break ground, dumbfound, or be profound!
I just renewed my Salon subscription, and am confronted once again with a mediocore writer's self obsessed ramblings about how gullible she is...while not bothering to frame one coherent thought or idea. All this is posted as THE TOP story for today.
That Salon seems to be mining depths unplumbed looking for readers no marketing research company can identify....it seems that we will continue to be bombarded with the horribleness of Joan Walsh's friends inflicting their vanity on us who like stuff...er...profound...
while insulting even the dimmest reader's intelligence.
This story finally represents the nadir in the undistinquished career of Joan Walsh, destroyer of worlds.

Our lives are in the hands of fools...
[Read the article: The gang that couldn't question straight]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all convictions, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
What beast slouthes in the Oval Office awaiting further instructions?
-
For those who consume
[Read the article: I was conned by JT Leroy]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]these memoirs of "overcoming adversity" as an excuse to gaze upon these human freak shows...didn't the 80's teach anyone about healthy skepticism? The easiest con to pull off is one which appeals to the vanity of the mark.
This hoax wasn't particularly skillful, but does illustrate how little self described smart people know about human nature....
Who is the dumbest mark? Ayelet for believing this yarn for as long as she did?
Or Salon for paying her to scribble her less than enlightening scribbles?
Or us, for clicking her crap?
-
Life is unfair, and she's not that bad!
[Read the article: I was conned by JT Leroy]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Well, Steph....in the real world of publishing...being not that bad just isn't good enough to a check cut for you for delivering absolute crap.
-
I have a feeling this tearful exit
[Read the article: Who made her cry?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]was planned and calculated.
That it came during Graham's examination just showed that Mrs. Alito had bad timing....
Spontaneous??
Give me a break.

Kato writes a book for Republican housewives
[Read the article: My lunch with an antifeminist pundit]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]and gets lots of virtual ink on Salon...
instead of having Rebecca get smacked down by an old pro...how about getting someone like Susan Faludi...who has been here before and has actually covered the ground in this "book" to interview O'Beirn?
Why send a girl to do a woman's job?
