Juan Cole, this is nothing short of outrageous! How dare they profile anyone? Profiling is inherently an un-American act designed to humiliate people.

So what if it results in preventing another attack on our soil and prevents another 9/11 and prevents the loss of thousands--even millions--of innocent souls? How can the FBI possibly believe that's the right thing to do?

This is the United States of America, I would remind them, where such invasions of privacy plays second fiddle to citizens' and non-citizens' rights to kill, maim and destroy!

(Actually, if you've recently flown our friendly skies or ridden our friendly trains, subways, ferries, boats, or buses, or attended events in our stadia or houses of worship or any other venue where large numbers of people gather,you should be aware, Mr. Cole, that security at those locales is farcical. Also, the FBI and DHS need to be aware that the perpetrators of the next attack(s) may not fit the "Muslim profile." They may well be tall blonde-haired Nordic types. My best guess is that the next attack(s) will be on the most vulnerable targets out there--cruise ships carrying thousands. HINT, HINT, Messrs. Chertoff and Mueller!)

Jesse Helms was an imperfect human being, as are we all.

Nevertheless, he was a man who loved his country and who wanted America to cease murdering defenseless pre-born Americans (we're up to 50,000,000 + "legal" abortions to date.) He also wasn't a big fan of homosexuals and their sickness.

What's telling and indicative of the leftist mindset is that, even after the guy dies, you just can't resist attacking him.

Your idol, the philandering, alcoholic, unindicted murderer, Ted Kennedy, is approaching his death bed. When he does die, I don't plan to assault his memory when he's barely buried. Leftist ghouls attack Jesse Helms as soon as they hear of his passing.

Why does the peace movement have to dress and act like an irritating children's birthday party???

What else would this author expect? The so-called "peace movement" is populated with the remnants of the "Flower Children" of the 60's and 70's and the "Woodstock Generation" and their progeny and fellow travellers.

This is the same misguided group which senselessly prolonged the Vietnam War and caused untold losses of American troops in the process.

(Think that's BS? Try Googling Vo Nguyen Giap, who led the NVA forces in that war and who conceded that the Viet Cong would have given up if not for American Peaceniks.)

Some people just never learn. Thing is, those people never pay the price of retreat and surrender. Our soldiers and our country pay that price.

DÉJÀ VU ALL OVER AGAIN: RUSSIAN NUKES IN CUBA!

The Russians are “thinking” of basing long-range, nuclear-capable bombers in Cuba. (”Why?” would be a good question since Cuba is just a 90 mile raft trip away.)

In October, 1962, the “Cuban Missile Crisis” had many Americans flocking to churches, building air raid shelters, and generally believing that Armageddon was at hand.

The U.S.S.R. had surreptitiously built nuclear missile bases in Fidel Land and our U2 spy planes caught them with their pants down. Russian Premier Nikita Khruschev, the dolt in power at the time, had already seen the mettle of our 35th president when, acting under the advice of Adlai Stevenson, Kennedy had denied air support for the Cuban patriots at the Bay of Pigs, thereby dooming their effort to free their nation from the murderous Communist, Fidel Castro, and resulting in their slaughter. (Fidel is still there, by the way, ruling in absentia and non compos mentis with Raoul almost half a century later.)

Barely 18 months later, Nikita tested the American leader, and Adlai found the gonads to stand up to the Russkies and issued his famous challenge in the United Nations and declare he was prepared to wait until Hell froze over for the Russian response. It never came, at least not an honest response.

What did happen was Russia’s “removal” of those missiles from Cuba, covered in tarps which could have concealed spoiled Havana Club rum for all we know; Cuban patriots said the missiles were carted off to various caves on the island.

In any event, Khruschev was deposed 2 years later in part because the quid pro quo deal...

OLYMPICS PART THREE: CHINA–LET THE GAMES BEGIN, BUT WHY THERE?

If all the hype about the meaning and reasoning behind the Olympics ever meant anything, (See Part One), why, just a few generations after the inception of the modern Olympiad, was Hitler’s Germany awarded the 1936 Games?

Why were the 1980 Olympics held in the U.S.S.R., a nation which had an obscene record of terror, international intrigue, militarism, and repression in Eastern Europe, and which had invaded Afghanistan less than a year earlier.

And why in the name of God were this summer’s Olympics bestowed upon the warlike, autocratic, and repressive People’s Republic of China?

Aside from the fact China is World Class Polluter #1 whose cities are barely habitable due to their poor air quality and whose waterways are fetid cesspools...
