CONSTITUTION DAY: SEPTEMBER 17th

Why we need a “Constitution Day” is a story in itself, and a sad story at that.

Our Constitution’s Preamble: “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”

Those words of the Preamble and the words that followed, along with the Declaration of Independence eleven years earlier, literally rocked the world and still remain among the most stirring and inspirational words ever written.

Yet, in 2005, the United States Congress had to mandate that the Consitution of the United States, that document which is the foundation of our country embodying the fundamental principles of our republic, be taught in American schools.

In 2005, the Congress was still under the control of the Republican Party, which is the only reason we have that mandate. Our schools, still under the control of the nefarious NEA, the AFT, and local and statewide teacher unions such as NYSUT in New York State, apparently were sluffing off and/or totally skipping the onerous task of teaching students about our government.

Our public schools, in effect, were ordered to teach our Constitution or lose out on federal largesse; $$$ trumped teacher laziness and lack of interest.

And, thank God for that.

The original, handwritten document is prserved and on display in our National Archives in Washington, D.C., reason enough to visit that seat of government.

RACE IN AMERICA III: THE LIMBAUGH WAR

Unlike the Obamassiah, Rush Limbaugh would be the first to tell anyone that he has never walked on water and never plans to try since he knows he would never expect to accomplish that feat. Yet, many of his adoring “dittoheads” react like stuffed liberals if one dares to suggest the guy is just human.

I can attest to that based on the reaction to my previous Limbaugh articles which evoked visceral reactions from “conservatives” who must spend most of their lives online and who just read headlines.

However, this Rush fan, but not blind dittohead, considers the current contretemps over Rush’s comments on racial relations in America as nothing more than a fraudulent effort to tar not only Limbaugh but Republicans as a whole and McCain/Palin specifically as racists.

Aren't the terms "angy left" and "angry black man" redundant?

BI-RACIAL MAN FEARS RACE WAR?

The following comment was posted on my website in response to my article on "Race in America:" http://www.genelalor.com/blog1/?paged=2.

The writer's name has been deleted in this reposting and I could not verify either his identity nor the accuracy of his statements. He previously indicated that he is a bi-racial man living in "redneck country.

I hope he's exaggerating.

I have been fearing a coming race war for quite awhile (mainly if BO loses). I am conservative, but have never felt the need to own firearms. I will be buying a small arsenal before the election (probably 1 pocket handgun, 1 larger handgun, and 1 or 2 shotguns. There are 3 adults in my household.) Doing this seems crazy to me because I entered the healing arts (pharmacist) to help people. But one does what one has to do.

Also, my next door neighbors are of African descent via Haiti. They are a very nice, hard working couple with three young children, but they quite often have large parties where their guests (mostly visitors from the NYC area) just look at me “funny”. I know, I know, it seems like I am reading into this or am paranoid but my years in pharmacy practice have given me the ability to “read” people to some extent. Anyway, this neighbor has just posted an Obama/Biden sign in his front yard. No surprise there. I am thinking of asking him to get one for me to post in my yard and praising Obama to him. Kind of like marking the doorway with lambs blood, eh?

I am truly afraid for my country and for my family’s safety. Have I lost my mind? Am I blowing this all out of proportion? I dunno.

I HAVE DECIDED TO BECOME A WRITE-IN CANDIDATE. HERE IS MY PLATFORM:

(1) “Press 1 for English” is immediately banned. English is the official language; speak it or wait at the border until you can.

(2) We will immediately go into a two year isolationist posture to straighten out the country’s attitude. NO imports, no exports.

We will use the ‘Wal-Mart’s policy, ‘If we ain’t got it, you don’t need it.’

(3) When imports are allowed, there will be a 100% import tax on it.

(4) All retired military personnel will be required to man one of our many observation towers on the southern border. (six month tour) They will be under strict orders not to fire on SOUTHBOUND aliens.

(5) Social security will immediately return to its original state....
