RACE IN AMERICA: RACE WAR?
Directly related to my previous post, “Race in America: A Retrospective and a New Perspective,” this article in the Philadelphia Daily News by Fatimah Ali addresses that topic from a Black perspective: http://www.philly.com/philly/opinion/20080916_Fatimah_Ali___Race_war__in_America.html.
She doesn’t actually say America is in the midst of a race war but then again she doesn’t say we aren’t.
Do note the firestorm that Ali’s articles have stirred up: http://www.alittlemoretotheright.com/blog/index.php?itemid=190, http://www.timebomb2000.com/vb/showthread.php?referrerid=&t=301605, and http://www.red-alerts.com/just-plain-foolish/fatimah-ali-vote-for-obama-or-well-have-a-race-war/, to cite just three of countless websites which reacted, some extremely venomously, to what she calls, “a metaphorical prediction.”
Now, granted, many of the commenters on those sites have to be considered of the redneck variety...

MEXICANS IN AMERICA: PART DOS–MEChA
(See Mexicans in America, Part One: http://www.genelalor.com/blog1/?p=131.)
I’ve personally seen illegals in action and I can say that Mexicans, and most other Latinos, are damned hard workers.
(The focus of this study will be limited to Mexicans since I’m not inclined to write another book at this time.)
Whether they arrived via wading across the Rio Grande or by running across the Sonoran or Chihuahuan Deserts, by being trucked in, or by any other means, their entrance onto our land was not an easy one, in most cases.
From the southwest they then migrated north and east and west and take jobs that Americans, we are told, don’t want, from farm laborers, to factory workers, to restaurant workers, even nannies.
If I were in their positions in their home countries, immersed in poverty and politically corrupt regimes, their families barely eking out existences in fetid cities and on dismal farms, I would probably do the same, that is, illegally enter that rich nation of the gringos, work hard, live meagerly, and ship bundles of American dollars back home to help keep their loved ones alive.
We are also told that the influx of illegal aliens or, as liberals call them, “undocumented workers,” has slowed and many are even heading back home due to our economy. I’ve seen no evidence of that, nor can I understand how we can determine how many are leaving since we have no clue as to how many actually arrived in the first place.
In any event, many of these hardworking people, probably not all but possibly a majority, have designs that go far beyond picking grapes, making widgets, washing dishes, and tending to the children of equally hard-working Americans.
As mentioned in my previous article, many are involved with an organization called, “MEChA,...

Seriously now, a bordello?
What's next with the leftist ilk? Accusing Todd of having an affinity for gerbils, with or without lipstick? Or accusing Sarah of being a bi-sexual since she started out as a sportscaster?
Or accusing Bristol Palin of being a part time Wasilla hooker in between chem and bio classes?
Leftist bottom feeders seem to know no bottom!
Well, that may not be true since so many lefties seem to just LOVE bottoms.

OUR NATIONAL ANTHEM DISSED ONCE AGAIN
Remember Roseann Barr’s class act of grabbing her crotch during her rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner?” That was just one of the most public and most disgraceful displays of contempt for our flag and our country. There have been too many others.
AOL features a collection of them here: http://sports.aol.com/photos/anthem-blunders?icid=200100397×1209838424x1200574480.
The first picture depicts Dallas Maverick’s Josh Howard who said, ” ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ is going on right now and I don’t even celebrate that s–t. I’m black, goddamnit.”
The collection also includes Denver Nuggets guard Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf Abdul-Rauf who refused to stand for the national anthem, stating that the flag was a “symbol of oppression,” and that the United States had a long “history of tyranny,” and Tommie Smith and John Carlos raising gloved hands during the “The Star-Spangled Banner” as an act of racial protest at the 1968 Olympics.
Most of the other pictures show luminaries such as Robert Goulet and other notables who simply forgot the words to the Anthem while attempting to sing it in public venues, as well as a few kids who forgot, and one who was protesting the Iraq War.
I can forgive the kids simply because they are kids but, good grief, aside from the disrespect shown by the forgetters, wouldn’t one think that adults chosen for the honor of singing “The Star Spangled Banner” before thousands of people would be inspired to brush up on the lyrics before they humiliated themselves and insulted their audiences?
Obviously not.
A more significant issue than forgetting the lyrics is why they all forget....
