THE LIPSTICKED BULLDOG MEETS CHARLES GIBSON
If this lady is a pig with lipstick, Obama must be legally blind. Nor is she a lipsticked bulldog but since she herself used that description, I guess I can too.
In the first of 3 sitdowns with ABC’s Charlie Gibson, Governor Sarah Palin comported herself with dignity, confidence, and class: http://www.abcnews.go.com/Politics/Vote2008/story?id=5778018&page=1.
Buffeted by recent outrageous abuse of her family and outlandish attacks on everything from her hairdo, to her experience, to her religion, to her independent, gritty Alaskan spirit, Governor Palin showed she is up for the challenges of both the vice presidency, and of the presidency.
This woman is very able to take care of herself and to tend to the needs of the country but she must be tickled red at people such as Rep. Barney Frank of Massachusetts, the Truman Capote’ of the House. Admittedly very gay Barney, he of the male-whore-who-used-Fwank’s-home-as-his-base-operations-for-male-prostitution fame, said Palin’s family was “fair game,” in this election, (http://www.bostonherald.com/news/regional/politics/view/2008_09_02_Barney_Frank:_Sarah_Palin_s_family_life_is_fair_game/), going so far as to say that Bristol Palin, the Palins’ 17 year old pregnant and unwed daughter, is open to partisan attack by the Democratic Party.
What relevance Bristol has to Governor Palin’s campaign for the vice presidency of the United States is beyond me, unless you seriously consider the source of such inane drivel. It’s my guess that Barney, since he obviously can’t have an immediate family, is wildly envious of the Palin clan and would smack them with his purse if he could.
Charlie Gibson was probably chosen for this first mainstream media interview because he’s a tad more benign than some of the other pitbulls, with and without lipstick or lip gloss, who seem to subscribe to the Barney Frank School of Thought, namely, the inclination to shamelessly shred Mrs. Palin alive if that’s what’s needed to promote Obama for the presidency.
But Charlie wasn’t exactly as avuncular as he seems....

OBAMA PREPARING TO PULL AN EAGLETON?Published in September 12th, 2008 | EditPosted by Berlet98 in AMERICAN CULTURE TODAY, McCain/Palin, OBAMA, POLITICSNo CommentsThe handwriting is on the outhouse wall. When you’re in a hole, the first rule is to stop digging. He who laughs last, laughs best.
Those words of wisdom seem to be the guiding force in the Obama/XXXXX camp of late.
First, we had the tailspin in Obama’s numbers, then the steep dive in monies people were contributing to him, then Biden floating a trial balloon that Obama should have picked Hillary, then the lovefest in Harlem as Bubba hugged the man he had called a Chicago ”thug” and predicted a landslide in November for the Obamassiah.
Something smells in Obamaland!
The scrawl on the outhouse wall reads, “We want change!” but now it’s not the ambiguous change that Obama has been preaching about but a ticket change. The Obamanians have stopped digging but they still want that last laugh on November 4th, so what to do?
When your own party stalwarts, and office holders, start expressing fears that Obama could sink them, you’re in a deep, bad pickle: http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/6c2f69ce-8031-11dd-99a9-000077b07658.html, so what to do?
It’s said that most people don’t start paying attention to elections until after Labor Day and the sad truth for Obama is that millions of Americans are finally tuning in, jumping off his bus, and preparing to kick him under it, so what to do?
White women especially and that all important bloc of independents have bailed out of the ‘Bama Bus, having learned more about him than they ever wanted to know, so what to do?...

GOP IN A GALLUP GALLOP
In a dramatic turnaround within a scant 2 weeks, Gallup polls report bad news for the Dems:
“PRINCETON, NJ — A potential shift in fortunes for the Republicans in Congress is seen in the latest USA Today/Gallup survey, with the Democrats now leading the Republicans by just 3 percentage points, 48% to 45%, in voters’ “generic ballot” preferences for Congress. This is down from consistent double-digit Democratic leads seen on this measure over the past year:” http://www.gallup.com/poll/110263/Battle-Congress-Suddenly-Looks-Competitive.aspx.
Specifics:
Dem candidate January 2008: 53%, September 2008: 45%; Rep candidate January 2008: 40%, September 28: 45%. The incredible shrinking party spread of 13% shrinks to 3%.
“Republican candidates now lead Democratic candidates among likely voters by 5 percentage points, 50% to 45%.” They snooze, they lose.
“If the current closer positioning of the parties holds, the structure of congressional preferences will be similar to most of the period from 1994 through 2005, when Republicans won and maintained control of Congress.” 1994 was the year Newt’s Contract with America Reps began to turn Clinton’s economy around.
Approval ratings for the Democratic Congresss: 27% positive in 2007, 65% negative; in 2008: 20% nays, 73% yeas. It’s slip, slip, slipping away…
What do all these boring numbers mean? If they hold, it will mean the electorate is realizing the do-nothing congress of Pelosi/Reid has, well, done nothing. It also means Obama/Blank will lose to McCain/Palin and that the good guys regain control of the legislative branch.
It may mean that happy days will soon be here again!
Joan Walsh doesn't know the meaning of mockery if she ignores the Daily Kos "cartoon" of the Twin Towers dancing and wishing everyone a happy 9/11!
