Inserting associations

Odog, Dude I like your handle because I have a dog who is like a four legged brother to me. Now I know I'm a smartass and all but people keep on putting together their own brittle associations around what Barack Obama stands for without really appraising the man alone. My dog whom I dearly regard as my closest friend is a mixed breed mutt that I found homeless and friendless in the street in down pouring rain. I named him Omar after the Egyptian movie star Omar Sharif. I gave him that name because I like it. Now I can assure you though he (Omar) has an Arabic name, he is in no way involved with international terrorism of any kind, and as far as I know is not on intimate terms with any radical underground cells involved in undermining the American way of life. Omar is a true blue mutt, a mixed breed. The best kind of dog. His colors are black and tan, and Omar is very well and truly, my main man. Though he is black in color he is not chauvenistic about the shine of his beautiful black coat, he is secure in that way. He's a true blue mixed pegigree American mutt. Now if you'd just stop looking under your bed for monsters, maybe, just maybe, you would have half the sense of my dog Omar. Maybe. Because I swear, sometimes I could easily believe that animals are a lot smarter than people

Read this:

"Right or Wrong Wright is Out"

And that puts the pastor with regard to all things Obama in clear, unequivocal perspective.

I truly believe without trivializing

That Obama sees the right dishonorable wretchedly stupid Rev. Wright as an Old dog, one which obviously made so rabid statements, and should be put down. That's how I feel about it and I'm sure Obama feels much the same way. Man, we can't all be monitors of every utterence that a minister, or a priest, or a rabbi, or an imam makes. The religion business is rife with ridiculous rabble rousers. I left he Catholic church after my confirmation at age 13 and I've never looked back.

Kate-Tex

Let me explain something to you, and let me explain it to you in black and white terms. Since black and white terms are what you understand best. Sometimes a figure of enlightened benvolence gets dragged down to into the degraded darkness and conflicted chaos of his opponent (Clinton).

What can one say?

Walker is way out there. I know walker is a woman, but she distictly reminds me of a famous American of the 1850's, one William Walker.

Me? I'm gonna remain a registered independent and vote for Obama in the general.

I could never join a political party. I'd feel like I was stuck in a can of sardines. I'm not saying I have a problem with political parties . People have to organize and come together around positions to get those positions into action, all I'm saying is that I've never been an organization joiner ever. This year I'm impressed with the democratic candidate, and by that I mean Obama. I'm not really enthused at the idea of round three of the Clintons, and four score and several years in Iraq with McCain. Obama's got the guts to cut against the grain of the business as usual of what American politics have been for eight long years. I'm still staying independent though. That's just my nature.

If only I could just see in black and white...

...most surely then I would see the light.

Yeah,

I hope she (Ferraro) continues to speak out too, and when she does speak out she should always continue to speak out in very starkly drawn and simplified black and white terms.

walker,

why is it every weird post you put forth, is either about women or women voters, and finally crashes with you flipping your wig in front of the whole wide world?

Dr. Laura?

I thought she'd disappeared into a sanitorium a long time ago! I also seem to recall that her doctorly credentials and qualifictions were held up to the light of some truthful scrutiny, that it was found out that she didn't have any. I can't believe she's back! The creature from Boggie creek has been ressurected and has returned? I'm amazed.

The Bunker strategy:

"Don't be a dingbat Edith, you can't get mixed up with dose coloreds.

Lady, put your vote wherever you think it does you the most good.

Some just wanna push race, others just wanna push on.

dfield,

Thanks, obviously your husband know's that particular New York neightborhood pretty well. I'm glad somebody has eyes. But the fact is, that Archie Bunker bunch are going the way of the do-do bird. For most of us, whichever way the pigment tips on the top layer of our skin, these old relics of the old racism need either to retire or expire. I'm sick of them. All of 'em.

In this hotly contested and contentious race...

...Obama may have saved Hillary Rodam Clinton, from her fall from grace. That is if she ever existed in a state of grace to start with.
