well I'm going to read it

I don't object to the existence of this blog any more than I object to the existence of feminist magazines or women-only gyms. The word "girl" should never be used to refer to an adult, I'd prefer you not use "lady" either, and stay away from "chicks". The blog isn't particularly cheeky either. But the nasty comments on TT and this forum do not reflect this feminist's opinion. I find the actual content of the blog worth reading.

Original article: Life: The disorder

Everything about this article is insulting

Publishing this article was a serious mistake by the editors. Did you think your own readers were somehow superior to those losers who take psychotropic drugs? Um...wrong. I feel attacked by this mean-spirited article written by someone with absolutely no qualifications or experience. I feel hurt by Salon, but at the same time I know that I am not wrong, and when I count the things I am thankful for this weekend, I put psychotropic drugs at the top of the list.

I now know, however, that I can expect contempt from my formerly favorite publication, and that your puritanical editors think I'm hiding from the harshness of real life. You go ahead and publish your insulting articles with your even more insulting graphics (the smiley face with the hair) and I will find something else to read.

Original article: It's time to forgive Serena

Kate Harding is wrong

Really, Kate Harding? If you, in your workplace, threatened to shove a f------- tennis ball down someone's f------ throat, because they frustrated you, you wouldn't expect to be seriously sanctioned? I highly doubt it. What Serena did was far more serious than a McEnroe tantrum. She stood over someone brandishing a tennis racket and threatened her safety, all because she was frustrated by a line call.

Ignoring the substance of what Serena actually did does not make it disappear. She threatened a match official in the middle of a professional sporting event. This is unacceptable. If she is not sorry, then something is wrong with her, and she should be suspended. Your obfuscation of what actually happened: attempting to frame it as a race and gender issue, does no one any favors. In fact, it reminds me a lot of the reaction after Chris Brown struck Rihanna. Oh that lineswoman did something to make Serena mad, she must have deserved it.
