(or a feelin' if yu use Palin Speak) that the McCain camp had tossed this a few months back. Why would they want this mess? Why not hand it over and let the other guy fail miserably or actually clean up the mess? Its a win/win either way. If Obama's administration fails to bring "change" and proves all the naysayers right...ah, win. If the Golden Child fixes it all up and everything is honky dory again then...ah, win. Ok, Palin obviously hasnt been told they are throwin' it yet and man wont that be somethin' when she figures it out? I think they just under estimated the stupidity of the public that has kept this going on this long. In the end its all just politics anyway and business as usual. This country has such huge issues to contend with right now that it really isn't going to matter who the figurehead is.
the idiocracy has its candidate. Now tune into the shiny metal object channel for updates.
California passed an initiative to protect farm animals rights but not humans rights? The religious zealots with their hate filled bigotry spent an enormous amount of money to push this. Indeed far too much money from both sides. Imagine what we could have done with that money in the name of love. Feed hungry people. Provide for our schools. This hate built on fear that grew from ignorance. I am shocked and ashamed of California. So many of my gay, bi and transgendered friends, coworkers and clients have proven to me over my lifetime that they deserve the same rights and freedoms as myself, a straight woman. I will never understand how anyone can deny another human equality. This will remain one of our biggest failures in the concept of being a "free" country. I am not gay and yet this issue effected me so greatly that the amazing historical joy of our newly elected president has lost its relevance to me in light of this. I vow to do all I can in the continued fight for equal rights for all people. With all this country has invested in hate filled senseless wars it is a terrible shame that we can still not find it in our hearts to protect and defend love.
I can imagine how much Michelle Obama is a huge driving force for Barack. I bet in many ways she continues to be his mentor, often in ways we don't tend to acknowledge in our society. She clearly is the back bone and the rock of that family. Without her and all that she has done and continues to do ...all of it.. essentially he would have never achieved this. This was a team effort, obviously. Im happy to give her much of the credit for being behind her husband. I can see her back there pushing all along. It is time to review what we consider power in our lives as women. I think Michelle Obama understands that, even if it is delicate balancing act.
His story was predictable and self absorbed. You know, if it wasn't written so poorly to boot I might have found it amusing, mildly entertaining even. What was perplexing to me is that Salon found it necessary to direct me to this via the newsletter. As if they are proud of it. Um, yikes.
