The problem is that people are forced to pay for a frivolous medical act which is an abomination to their moral values. If you want to take this out of the public eye, take it out of public policy. By thrusting, no cramming, this act/procedure into peoples' consciousness, the liberal social engineers have incited the responses we see with tiller. While I do not agree with killing the doctor for his chosen professional tasks, it must be understood the repulsiveness of his chosen practices only provoke people whom he knew were out there.
The solution is to make choices and the cost private. If a woman wants an abortion because she chose to have sex with the wrong guy, then so be it. Just don't send me the bill. For those of you who think this procedure should be safe and legal, put your money where your mouth is and put up, or shut up.
Before we over-react, we must first stop to consider the motivations of the person who killed Tiller. We need to understand why certain people are against killing a viable baby at birth. Why? Why are people so against other people who would kill a baby when shielded by some dispassionate clinical jargon? Before the usual suspects start to hyper-ventilate over this, consider you may reaping the harvest they have sown. Should we just call this a late-late-late-late term abortion rather than a murder?
If a guy fires an RPG, drops it and runs through a house, does he come out an insurgent or a civilian?
If Iraqi's want to do themselves and their image a favor, stop helping Al Qaeda. Their tacit support of terrorists is only going to make their lives worse.
Has anyone added up the cost of evironmentalist lobbying over the decades that has gotten us a requirement of 35 mpg?
Has anyone added up the cost of the Department of Energy since it was created in 1977?
Billions spent and we are still, dependent on petroleum to a large extent and foreign oil as well.
The only way that real get real energy independence is to get the Congress and local legislatures out of the energy business. Either let oil companies produce petroleum at reasonable prices or push an alternative. It seems the government does neither and is more interested in how much tax revenue it can realize from energy production and consumption.
Let me get this straight, John Edwards wishes Disk Cheney was killed by insurgents and gets a pass. Ann Coulter wishes the same on him and he sends out his sick wife to fight Ann Coulter?
Whadda punk he is!
