Why Would I Care A Whit About What This Narcissistic, Lisping Ghoul Has to Say?

Let's give it to him. Guiliani gave a really great performance for about 48 hours of his life.

In a nation traumatized by the 9/11 attack, whose two leaders sat like a deer in the headlights reading "My Pet Goat" while the other one ran like a child to hide in his bunker of evil, Guiliani stepped up and played the role of "Comforter in Chief" and national "Daddy."

So why can't he get a nice position on the board of some corporation, or as head of some university, or something, to honor the useful, albeit very short, contribution he has made to society, and MOVE ON?

Otherwise, the man was a terrifying mayor. He's a few rigatonis left of Mussolini. Morally and ethically, he's a one-man land-mine.

He doesn't inspire leadership -- hell, the man doesn't inspire anything except a bad taste in your mouth.

Sorry, Rudy, but I think we need to assume the opposite of anything you have to say these days...

You want improvements? GET RID OF CAMILLE PAGLIA, GET RID OF DEBRA DICKERSON...

that's all.

No one at Salon is listening, but just figured I'd say it again.

Clearly, even the potential of meeting his maker is not shaping up Tony Snow's lying...

guess when he eventually gets to the Pearly Gates (and no, I'm not heartless, let's hope it's later rather than sooner) and discovers that Pat Tillman is guarding the gate, and Molly Ivins is manning the guest book, Tony Snow will finally have his moment of reckoning...

Get past the circumstances...

If you get past the circumstances of his arrest, this really is quite a compelling piece by an excellent writer.

I found it fascinating to read this slice of life from inside the British prison, and Kurth is certainly an evocative writer.

It was SWEET...

...this morning, when Good Morning America led with

"On the fourth Anniversary of his 'Mission Accomplished' speak, President Bush vetoed legislation that would have begun bringing home some of the troops as early as this Fall."

That's exactly how you want it played on mainstream media.

And kudos to whichever PR savvy Dem figured out the timing of this one, and the media potential of scheduling the veto on such a dammning anniversary.

The Junta can complain all they want about "PR Stunt" but the reality is, their own PR stunt four years ago has come back around and slapped them in the face.

And when you have such an easy mark as Bush, this one was like shooting fish in a barrel.

Maybe a few of our morally/ethically/politically-disabled individuals out there will hear enough of the real (as opposed to "faux") news coverage of this particular debacle to realize what an insane dictator Bush really is...

Thank you Glenn

For your expose' of Politico's biases.

The public deserves to know that an organization touting its impartiality is just another cover to allow the wingnuts to shill for their candidates and causes.

Anyone who doesn't think that DeLillo is an amazing writer...

has not read White Noise, one of the best books written in the later 20th century.

DeLillo may not be to everyone's taste, but I think he's magnificent.

If this is how the Banana Republicans want it...

then it will interesting to hear what they have to say if turnabout happens.

2008, Democratic president, and a NEW attorney general. Then the new AG can figure out how to rig elections, put the pressure on to prosecute Republicans and conservatives around the country, and make America's justice system one giant Kangaroo Court.

How fast will they be screaming bloody murder?

But then the Democrats aren't a bunch of despotic dictatorial Banana Republicans, they actually BELIEVE in democracy and rule of law, and so they won't sic the new AG on the Republicans, will they?

We Don't Need "Religious Fundamentalist" Politicians

America is a nation with a separation of Church and State.

And fundamentalists cannot, by nature of their very core beliefs, separate Church and State. Religion trumps, and yet defines, their politics.

For that reason alone, I think America needs to steer clear of fundamentalists in positions of power and political office.

And that goes equally for the current occupant and his evangelical Christianity, someone like Lieberman with a Zionist perspective, radical Muslims, etc.

I don't want to elect anyone who thinks God is talking to them, who thinks they are Chosen over others, who thinks they are more likely than anyone else to get to Heaven, who thinks that religion should be reflected in the government's policies and laws or the money we send to other nations, or who wants to declare Jihad on me.

I am so fed up with all the hard-core religious nuts running the world that frankly, I'm thinking a nice Unitarian Universalist president would be quite refreshing -- and probably would avert a laundry list of major world disasters to boot...

The Best Part...

of all of this is that you KNOW what sort of vitriole Miss Shaha is dishing out to Wolfie 24/7 when no one else is around.

She's got a reputation for being a truly nasty piece of work in public, to anyone and everyone. Just IMAGINE what particularly savory parts of her nastiness she's saving for him in private.

Ah, to be a fly on the wall....

Nothing anyone does to him will be worse than his having to deal with Shaha....

Hahahahahahahahahaha....

Conga Line...

Word is, some of the World Bank employees actually started a conga line of joy at the news...
