Experience also takes into account what Barack Obama hasn't done. And...
Just in case anyone hasn't realized, the Washington Post is, for the most part, towing the conservative line.
They have been unabashedly supportive of the war, and unusually reticent about criticizing the administration...so much so that my husband and I have said, numerous times, that we need to finally cancel our subscription to our hometown newspaper (and I use the term "news" loosely).
Between Robin Givhan's breathless prose about Condoleezza Rice and Nancy Pelosi's wardrobe, to the infuriatingly right-wing editorials, to the utter lack of investigative capabilities, the Washington Post is washed up...
So much for the "liberal media."
If anyone actual finds any "liberal" media besides National Public Radio, Salon, Alternet, and Keith Olbermann, wouldya let me know?
Generally, I'm in agreement that this woman is not the person this man should make his life with, but Cary, I'm confused.
If this woman has only recently married the guy, why would you possibly think that she would end up paying child support to him?
She's not the mother of the children. She has no financial or legal responsibility for them.
Gee, imagine putting the urgent needs of our country ahead of your own personal ambitions...
Refreshing, and encouraging.
Does anyone doubt that Cheney, like Bush, Rumsfeld, Condoleezza and their ilk are all suffering from the same pathology: "Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD)."
...NPD is a pattern of self-centered or egotistical behavior that shows up in thinking and behavior...People with NPD won't (or can't) change their behavior even when it causes problems at work or when other people complain about the way they act, or when their behavior causes a lot of emotional distress to others...This pattern of self-centered or egotistical behavior is not caused by current drug or alcohol use, head injury, acute psychotic episodes, or any other illness, but has been going on steadily at least since adolescence or early adulthood.
Some of the characteristics...
1. An exaggerated sense of self-importance
2. Preoccupation with fantasies of unlimited success, power,
brilliance, beauty, or ideal love
3. Believes he is "special" and can only be understood by, or
should associate with, other special or high-status people (or
institutions)
4. Requires excessive admiration
5. Has a sense of entitlement
6. Selfishly takes advantage of others to achieve his own
ends
7. Lacks empathy
8. Is often envious of others or believes that others are
envious of him
9. Shows arrogant, haughty, patronizing, or contemptuous
behaviors or attitudes
We don't need a non-binding resolution. We need to get every single one of these pathologically destructive maniacs out of government, hands off the button, and out of situations where they can harm us, our fellow citizens, and others in the world...
BTW, by the above definition, it's pretty clear to see that John McCain, Rudolph Giuiliani and Hillary Clinton are all NPD in the extreme...
