Because except for inside the beltway partisans, most of us liberals, including this ultra left wing liberal ACLU card carrying union member, do NOT want to vote for you.
You are a pandering, position-shifting, hyperambitious politician. You supported the war, sold out the Palestinians, and you seem to make it clear that your soul -- and your vote -- is available to the highest bidder.
You are NOT a leader.
You are not a winning personality. You do not come off as likeable.
You are not inspiring.
You do not capture our hearts and minds.
You are not an eloquent or passionate speaker.
And this is why you need to be afraid.
Because in America, we vote for personalities as much -- if not more -- than experience.
And while Barack Obama does not have much experience on a national scale, he inspires people.
He allows us to hope that the bipartisan, blue-red state friction can be eased.
Barack Obama inspires people with his speeches.
Barack Obama is compelling.
He's got a charismatic personality.
He's brilliant.
He comes off as a genuinely likeable person.
And he's just as good as you, maybe even better, at raising money.
I have my concerns, not about Barack's capacity to lead -- because he is entirely qualified, brilliant, and capable. And certainly 10,000 times more qualified and astute to lead anything, compared to the current occupant. But Barack too is doing some pandering. Despite his opposition to the war, he's getting too cozy for my comfort with various special interest lobbyists, and especially AIPAC. But it is politics, after all.
So, that said, be afraid, Hillary.
Barack has it all over you, and you know it.
You got a case of Kornheiser envy or what, Kaufman?
This was the sort of bad parody I'd expect from a high school freshman newspaper...
(we at least know what Rush's problem is...)
if she thinks she's going to run against Obama.
If our foreign policy has been to AVOID discourse with anyone we don't agree with or side with, and ESPECIALLY not Muslims and Arabs, why WOULD we expect to have Arabic speakers working in U.S. government?
I'd imagine the greatest concentration are in the oxymoronically titled "intelligence" arena, and even there, there's no doubt a shortage.
Then of course, there are many of us who do speak relevant foreign languages who wouldn't work for the US government under any circumstances. CIA tried to recruit me out of college (a foreign studies program, fairly standard thing), and after the third interview (the one where they showed me the 36 page application form that wants your life details, including everyone you've had sex with), I said Adios...
During their mutual lovefest a few weeks back (supposedly about his book, but basically Oprah's breathless "are you going to run" foreplay), Obama actually promised Oprah that he would announce on her show.
I think he'd be an idiot to back out on a deal like that...
(FWIW...the Food Network line is a joke.)
All I can say is, nobody better let Dick Cheney or Karl Rove in to visit the poor senator, unless they want him to live through the night.
Welcome to the Banana Republic of America...
85 pound year old girls don't typically menstruate. You have to have a certain level of body fat and body weight to actually HAVE a period.
I'd bet money that Nicole doesn't have menstrual periods at all...she should have picked something more believable...
Such as, she drank a dixie cup of alcohol -- because at 85 pounds, that'd probably put her over the Blood Alcohol Limit for DUI
In my opinion, AIPAC is to Judaism and Israel what Al Qaeda and Hamas are to Islam and the Middle East.
So if some smart, rational, well-funded people have decided to create a group that will work fairly, rationally and morally to promote Israel's existence and security, without building walls, bulldozering homes, and killing Palestinians, then all I can say is Hallelujah.
This new organization could have more to do with helping actually "fight" the war on terrorism by helping resolve conflict in the Middle East, and helping influence the U.S. to take a more ethical and long-term approach. It could work better than any troops, bombs or Departments of Homeland Security ever could.
AIPAC has had too much control for too long, and some stiff competition is long overdue...
