  • I agree but I don't see it happening...

[Read the article: Bush's criminal confessions]

I'd love to see several people rotting in a dank dungeon cell full of spiders and rats where they were waterboarded daily until they confessed that they knew all along that what they did was illegal, immoral, and reprehensible. This and other information would then be used against them in trials where they would neither be allowed to see nor challenge the evidence presented.

I just don't see the American government as having the moral fiber required to do something like that. Taking legal action against Bush et al would require the American government to admit to war crimes and worse. And if, against all probability, there is a move to bring these perpetrators to justice, all the legal challenges that would be pressed against any effort to obtain justice in American courts would spin any final decision out to the point where the guilty parties would be dead or enfeebled.

It's a sad comment but I think Shrub and Co will get away with some pretty vile behaviour.

  • Yeah, well, Ok

we've had a pan-galactic panoply of pulchritude this year. But I don't think that the male aversion to the newest form of male contraception is a male plot to keep you feminists complaining about female contraception. Here is where we stand at a sexual chasm. For the male, the physical ejaculation is integral to the orgasm itself. So you're asking the male to forgo most of orgasm to use this contraceptive. Is it a surprise that we aren't enthused?

  • Why isn't the obvious being said?

[Read the article: A long deliberation, an immediate escalation]

Why isn't all the punditry standing up and saying that the emperor has no clothes? Allegedly, this new and/or improved strategy was supposed to be a change in direction, a way to resolve the consequences of the actions of an arrogant, ignorant president enabled by a horde of venial lemmings in congress.

THIS IS STAY THE COURSE, PEOPLE!

The government needs to let go of the hallucination that we can create an American style democracy in Iraq who will be so grateful that they will sell oil to us @ $20 a barrel. Only then will they come up with a new strategy.

  • What's good for the goose is good for the gander

[Read the article: "All of the bad guys in the Middle East are in Iraq"]

So let me see if I have this straight...

It's OK for the US to support the foreign invaders in Israel while they steal the Palestinian lands and oppress them; but it's not OK for other countries to help the Iraqis fight off the foreign invaders on their soil and help them settle the sectarian warfare largely sparked by those same foreign invaders.

Have the bozos in Washington ever heard of the phrase "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you"? 'Cause there is a correllary: Others will do unto you as you have done to them.

  • Outstanding news

[Read the article: More women living sans spouse]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I don't know how many times I've advised young guys not to even think about considering thinking about getting married. Eventually, some court will take away your right to liberty and the pursuit of happiness. For every female that skips the spousal unit, there's probably some guy who will be able to live his life without getting screwed by the state.

    And that's a good thing.

  • Eloquent but...

The principle that everyone seems to forget - lawyers, law makers, and certainly this idiot Stimson... The golden thread that runs through English Common Law ... You are INNOCENT until proven guilty.
