I can't imagine how you missed that one.
Yes, all those terms are sexist! When is the last time you heard someone saying one of them on TV about a presidential candidate?
"I think we should all participate. Visit your favorite blog from the list, express your own opinions about John McCain's candidacy, and make sure that you report EVERY COMMENT back to McCain's web site. Let his staff see firsthand what the Internet community thinks of his talking points, and see how much of his staff's time we can waste."

Unfortunately, I don't need help making myself look silly. Oh well.
Sorry you took the heat about the whole "secret racist" meme that's been rooting its way around the comments sections on almost every thread here. However, you cannot pretend it has anything to do with the topic of calling Hillary Clinton a bitch. Also, since the argument is that people "wouldn't tell a pollster" how racist they are, it's rather disingenuous of you to say that the level of anonymity doesn't matter. I have taken two CNN exit polls. I was not interviewed. I filled out a form, folded it, put it in a ballot box and walked away. I did not tell a pollster my personal views on racism. It was on the paper. If you're going to claim that people are secretly racist and don't want to tell exit pollsters that, how does it NOT MATTER that the exit poll is EXACTLY as anonymous as voting itself?
Joe Lieberman takes the cake. You gotta laugh, or you'd just have to ... I don't know, scream, I guess.
All I can say is, Thank you, Connecticut, for making this hilarious dog-and-pony show possible.
would be incredibly transparent spam on most sites.
Which is why other people are being paid to act as concern trolls, a (very, very) few of whom are actually hard to ferret out. But you know who you are, kids - and so do we!
I kinda thought he looked amused rather than stern. Did you see that? Perhaps the look on his face is just suggestive enough to reflect back whatever the viewer is looking for. But I have no idea what it will look like 3-D and 28 feet high, so those are good questions.
and not in a threatening way. Certainly looks committed, but not angry.
Scotswoman, that was my exact thought. What they did to King they also did to a certain radical rabbi. Seeing as how they bleached that guy white and painted him with blue eyes, I suppose after they get done changing the pose to one of MLK sleeping ("having a dream," you see), they will have to switch to white marble.
As for those talking about "farming out" our national statues, do you know for sure that the sculptor is not an American resident? Anyway, while I guess it would be nice to have an U.S. resident do the sculpture, I don't really have a problem with someone else doing it. I assume they put out a COA and liked his proposal best.
Isn't judging someone's work on its merits instead of the person's background supposed to be the American Way?
You wrote: "If that's true, it's likely that a fair number more felt that way but weren't willing to say it to a stranger."
STOP IT! Exit polls are done on paper. No one says a thing to a stranger.
But I am a daily Salon, Carpetbagger and TPM reader. I know it's bullshit. People with two and three jobs and no Internet access at home or work? They are less likely to think it's bullshit.
And it's not for the good of the country. It's for the good of Democrats getting the White House this year.
I don't think Clinton should drop out, as I've said many times. But these half-baked arguments about winning the popular vote and changing the number of delegates required? There is a name for those: LIES.
What a terrible idea. Am I the only person who remembers Al Gore conceding Florida earlier than some of us may have preferred, because he thought the president should not enter the White House under a cloud of illegitimacy?
Now, say what you like about what happened as a result: it was GOING TO HAPPEN ANYWAY. What Gore did was the right thing to do, and I wish the Clinton campaign could see that. While they have ditched much of the negative campaigning, they are actively trying to create the impression that their opponent is stealing the primary election. And he's a fellow Democrat.
The pink soap smell does absolutely nothing to cover the troll stench, sister.
I have seen several people claiming that the 25% must be an underestimate, because people don't want to admit their racism to pollsters.
There are several problems with this.
1. I read 1 in 5, which is not a quarter; it's 20%. Let me know if you saw different numbers.
2. What this TWENTY percent agreed was not that they were rabid racist fucks, but that race played a part in their vote. Most people are rational and persuadable, so don't count EVEN these folks out.
3. I have taken two exit polls, and they were on paper, just like my ballot, and I folded it up and stuffed it into a ballot box without anyone else ever seeing it. No one has to admit to another person that race played a part.
4. Do you think Obama wants to write this 20 percent off? If so, I think you are mistaken. He was just endorsed by Robert Byrd, and I don't think I'm the only person who cried about that symbolism.
