Interesting article

Being new to the south I was interested in the observations on bible thumping drunk Huckubee supporters. Don't quite understand why Romney supporters would not be in bed pre-McCain troglodites since they are neither supposed to imbibe nor womanize at all, a point they make perfectly clear when they come "a-preaching" to your door and probably the reason why their hair is always perfectly combed.... and unlike our writer, their pants probably never too tight just in case. I recently decided just for fun to take my own poll of the people I meet in my new home down here, deep south, without ever disclosing my own penchant for the result of these elections. I am amazed at the "reason for not voting Obama" I am getting daily from people from all walks of life. I constantly hear, "won't vote for him because I don't want to be responsible if someone shoots him!" First couple of times I heard this I was amazed at the compassion, then, when the pattern repeated itself routinely I began to understand!!!!! I now see another facet of my bible thumping neighbors and getting quite an "education" in the process.

Original article: Palin watch ends!

Question on religious views.

Please ask Sarah to explain for me a SCIENTIFIC explaining of the paintings in the Lascaux and Altamira caves in Europe since they predate her view of a 5,000 year old earth. She does that and she has my vote...... the day she runs for president (which I suspect she thinks she is doing right now)

Article on the dominatrix

Why waste so much time and effort on Palin? Has the ticket changed somehow from McCain/Palin to Palin/McCain? I realize listening to their duo on the road that it sounds as though McCain has suddenly lost his voice and needs a talking attack dog to get his message across.... but we would do well to forget her and get back to the issues, quickly, before she has enough traction to change this election and bring us four years of disasters which might make the last 8 look like a gentle picnic.

Zombie Rep

I cannot for one moment believe that any woman who would have supported Hillary Clinton would vote for this fraud in designer glasses. My earth is more than 5,000 years old; I know, I have seen the Lascaux caves and Altamira but I don't feel I have the right to deprive her of her beliefs. I do not approve of abortion but then I have never been raped, either, and perhaps that would change my perspective and I would not deny anyone else the right to make a different decision! I have lived in Alaska and there is no connection to living in what they condescendingly refer to as the "lower 48" and believe me a lot of them mean "lower"! Ask any member of the American "Independence" party which is still very much alive! In an attempt to steal Hillary vote McCain needed a cuppydoll for his collection and now he has one and has the gall to tell us it's for the "good of the country". She is not Barbie but a dedicated barracuda who will have her way if she ever becomes president! Will we, then, have to worry that at any moment with all her experience in foreign affairs and her husband's counsel (since she seems to share her governor's decisions with him) she would push the button on our nukes and tell us her decision is an act of God? Once I was a republican, now I am a scared to death independent! Wake up, people, and smell the trouble we are in!

ghost writing letters!

As the mother and grandmother of soldiers in Iraq I am thoroughly disgusted! I had thought my disaffection with the republican party would be limited to this particular election but increasingly find it difficult to cope with the feelings of disgust. I am sure Sen. Obama's campaign is not past some tricks of its own but I think McCain has really surpassed himself. The acquisition of Ms Palin was obviously not such a great prize if her praises have to be sung by fake letters to the editor. Hopefully not too many people will be fooled.

Original article: Quote of the day

Sara Palin and refusal to take questions from the press.

I don't understand why the press still follows her around. It seems to me if they informed the McCain campaign that nothing she does or says will be reported on television and her "canned" speech at rallies will be blacked out unless they make her available to answer impromptu questions the campaign would have to change its tune and let her explain what she believes in. It has been a long time since the Salem Witch Trials and we need a little entertainment right about now what with the $700 billion bailout. I think we can live with an explanation of the 5000 year old earth, the end time and the rapture, the reverend witch hunter, etc.... Who knows? We might all decide to join! Right now being a little crazy helps!

saturday morning after

Senator McCain looked like a grumpy old man who was forced by circumstances to be somewhere he did not wish to be. That was perhaps the reason for the idea he would not be there until it became no longer politically expedient. He was definitely in the presence of someone he did not want to speak to. Such an upstart! He has spent his life in the senate then here comes this character trying to steal his thunder! Sad! Now we know: he does not speak to people he disaproves of and will not look at them either. If he is elected it is going to make for some interesting encounters at UN General Assembly meetings. Most of the world has already sided with Obama so I can just imagine what a McCain reception would look like-unless of course he decides not to attend since he won't speak to people he does not like. Obama was much too nice. He needs to reciprocate more!
