I totally agree that men are supposed to buck up and get to work. I'm a (male) grad student home with the flu and my roommate is equally sick - and at work. He comes from a "manly" family with a military background; I don't, to say the least. I'm staying home as long as I want. It's the guys that go to work, go to school, etc., that are getting and keeping the rest of us sick. It's yet another tenet of masculinity that keeps going despite the costs it imposes on everyone else.
