The Biggest Problem
[Read the article: The terrorist you've never heard of]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]with this Administration's 'War on terra' is that any Public Prosecutions must advance a political agenda.
John Walker Lindh, Mohamed al-Kahtani, Zacarias Moussaoui, Richard Colvin Reid, these guys were useful to the Bush Administration. Maximum publicity was insured because each arrest guaranteed that another citizen would be scare sh-tless and vote for the Republicans.
But there was a second form of terrorist, just as deadly, that did not disappear after Clinton left office in 2000. The names William J. Krar, Clayton Waagner, James Charles Kopp will not make the 6 O’clock news.
There will be no public statements by “Jesus” John Ashcroft or “Torquemada” Gonzales. No extra legal efforts will be made to see if these people are part of an organized terrorist group, the official Administration line will always be that these are lone individuals. As the Republican Party has used both race baiting and harsh anti-abortion rhetoric to keep the rubes from realizing how badly they are getting screwed, these other terrorist will be quietly sentenced with no fanfare.

Tough Call
[Read the article: A bill of rights for the beleaguered GOP?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I honestly do not know.
Problem is that even after victory in November, even after a thorough rejection by the voting public of the Republican Party, even though 43 and his backers used every means, legal or illegal to try and keep the House and Senate, the MSM still subjects Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats to the Rodney Dangerfield treatment.
They don’t get any respect. Ever. In the words of the brilliant writer Matt Taibbi of Rolling Stone:
…been transported back to 1997 or 1998 when (new elected) speaker Nancy Pelosi announced her support for John Murtha, back to the heyday of the DITTOHEAD ERA, when any Democrat who so much as peed sideways a little in private could count on having his throat ripped out on all three networks 10 seconds latter…
The article is in the December 14th issue of Rolling Stone (Road Rage) and it pulls no punches. To once again quote Mr. Taibbi:
…For the next two years, no matter how much the Republicans F-ck up, the story is going to be the shrill bitch from San Francisco tripping over her own tits.
Does Madame Speaker really have to show honor and Integrety if she can never win the game. I do not think so.

Normally
[Read the article: No reason to make nice]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I am not a vindictive person, but after reading an article in the November Issue of Rolling Stone magazine (Worst Congress Ever), I am inclined to follow the advice of the Ragin Cajin James Carville:
"If your opponent is drowning, throw the Son of a B*tch an anchor."

The Commander,
[Read the article: Maria's hope]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]knowing full well from an early age that health care in this country was based on the ability to pay, spent 20 years in the Army to solve this problem.
Now comfortably retired and fortunate enough to have avoided 2 wars and 5 or 6 "police actions" (I'm a pacifist who does not like to hurt anyone), my monthly premiums with tricare prime are only $450 a year. I live near a major military post, so access to a doctor is always available.
So far I figure that I have saved some $200,000 that my wife and I would have paid without this coverage, minor things such as a broken ankle or carpel tunnel syndrome, but they add up. And because of this I have avoided dealing with health insurance companies, all of whom wish you had never been born after you pay the premiums.
Sorry for the loss of your friend Mr. C. I buried my father last week, and getting the school where he was injured to pay for care was an adventure in itself. The health care industry in America 2007 sucks, and the insurance execs should be drawn and quartered.

It truly amazes
[Read the article: The fighting side of McCain]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]me the number of people who:
- Still think that McCain is a "Maverick"
- Constantly underestimate, right or left, the elect ability of Senator Clinton
Astounding?!? You would think that after winning her second election in a landslide, Senator Clinton really does know what she is doing.
John McCain decided in the last 6 years that he would rather kiss and cover then stand by any principles. I do not know if the swing voter finally recognizes this, but we shall see. It is sad, because as a retired soldier I use to admire that man.

Right on Mr. Conason
[Read the article: Enough with the new bipartisanship]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]So now my Republican Friends are screaming Bipartisanship and a minority bill of rights. The same Bill of Rights that Speaker Pelosi proposed 2 years ago.
And what did Dennis Hastert's flunkies say about this request:
In keeping with the general atmosphere of the House these days, aides to Speaker J. Dennis Hastert (R-Ill.) said he will not respond to the two-page proposal from Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).
Not that you would ever know this reading the WAPO. Seems the media whores, lapdogs and pre$$titutes have a short term memory problem.
http://mediamatters.org/items/200701030011
Apparently the only thing these thugs respond to is naked force. My advice to messengers Pelosi and Reed: F-ck'em.
When these asswipes tried to filibuster reform legislation in the Senate yesterday, the negative emails to the Republican obstructionist probably overloaded their servers. They sure enough turned around today to pass those reforms.
As long as the Dems continue to show progress and pass legislation that benefits the majority, they will have political cover. They must never forget that these issues are called populist legislation for a reason.
Let the children continue to throw temper tantrums. The mature Adults are in charge now.

Mr. Conason
[Read the article: Ghosts of dirty tricks past]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]was too polite to mention it, but this type of political sabotage has a name: Ratf-cking.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rat_fucking
Some how this seems appropriate, although it does tend to give a bad name to actual rats.
