This U.S. Navy veteran wishes you a well earned fuck you. Thanks for cutting veterans benefits, even as the war you lied us into creates more and more disabled veterans.
The sexy cylon you saw in the first episode (mini-series) seduced Baltar to gain access to the defense grid, so the cylons could wipe out the human race. But that's the only seduction by a sexy cylon that I can think of, it wasn't something that happened over and over again over all the seasons.
You are correct that you shouldn't review the show based on a plot synopsis, since your entire take on the series is based on something you saw in the first episode, and just assumed would be repeated in every other episode. BSG is a great show, and last night's premiere was great, a lot of very touching moments.
Of course you didn't like the episode, you hadn't seen anything that preceeded it. BSG is a show you would have to see from the very beginning for it to make sense, and become invested in the characters. It's not like Law & Order, or CSI where you can just jump in any given week. The characters that you saw started out very different, they evolved and grew over the course of the series. In fact, many of the characters that were allied on the episode were bitter enemies at one time.
I didn't watch the show until last year, the memory of the cheesy original was stuck in my head. But I kept reading about how great it was, so I finally rented the mini-series, and I was hooked from then on. BSG is one of the best shows on television, hands down. But if I had tried to watch a random episode, I'm sure I wouldn't have liked it either.
There's a local TV critic here that, back in the 90s, somehow never saw an episode of Seinfeld (not much of a tv critic in my opinion), then watched the series finale, and proclaimed Seinfeld to be a horrible show based only on that. The final episode wasn't very good, and any random episode might not be up to par, so jumping in in the middle, or near the end, isn't a very good idea.
I would have thought they would at least have had some big name country singers and professional wrestlers from the WWF.
LOL Elephant Man, you're a Caddyshack fan, I guess you're not all bad. Yeah, Biden can put his foot in it occasionally, still, we dodged a bullet with that walking joke Sarah Palin. I know you guys had to pretend that you liked her during the campaign, but that's over now. It's safe for you to breathe a sigh of relief that, even if you would have preferred McCain over Obama, at least Sarah "you can see some Russian wilderness from Alaska, so that means I have foreign policy experience" Palin won't be making life and death decisions for our military.
and wishes you a well deserved FUCK YOU, thanks so much for cutting veterans benefits, even as the war you lied us into created more and more horribly disabled veterans. I know you conned about 25 percent or so of our most gullible citizens into believing you're Gary Cooper or some shit, but I know what you are.
I hope you rot in hell you son of a bitch!!!
I think even the leadership in the republican party is a little embarrassed by these yahoos. They were useful idiots for a while there, getting them out to vote over the last 12 years or so kept them in power, but once their policies screwed things up so horribly, the rest of the public woke up.
Now they have goofy shit like this, and Limbaugh telling his sheep to hope that Obama is a failure as president. They dutifully nod their heads, not realizing that his failure means they will be mired in a depression, while Limbaugh watches his gold plated television, and laughs at the idiots that listen to him.
If they don't figure out a way to shut these nitwits up, the democrats just might be able to hold the white house and congress for the next 20 years.
Yeah, but all that time you save by not messing with your hair, you spend thinking up haiku for message boards. Is your time really that much better spent ;)
This sounds like an entertaining documentary, I'll give it a shot. I hope they put the other cut Rock mentioned on the DVD, that would be interesting too
We do have a democratic governor and lt. governor, and I guess there are more registered democrats than republicans, maybe that's what they were going for. But even our democratic elected officials are republican lite, they do their best to sound republican in their tv commercials.
Almost everybody I know hated Bush by the end of his term, but they still voted for McCain. I was born and raised here, but I've given up trying to understand what's going on in people's minds here with politics, if you talk to them, aside from abortion, most of their views line up with the democratic party, but when you point that out, they just shake their heads and change the subject.
I think if Obama had visited here, he might have done better, I saw some polls in the Summer where the race was closer, but he still wouldn't have won, so it was probably smart to focus his energy elswhere. Like Jeanette, if it weren't for family ties, I would probably high tail it out of here. It sucked the day after the election, going to work, and being so happy, and seeing all the long faces at work, I didn't really have anybody to share my happiness with. Oh well, it does make for some lively discussions in the break room.
