What might have been.

Makes me wonder what things would be like now if Bush had picked Colin Powell to be his running mate back in 2000. He probably would have beaten Gore instead of having his daddy's friends install him. With Powell telling him what to do about national security, 9/11 might have been just another fall day. Even if the attacks happened, Powell's response would have been much more pragmatic.

It means that Powell would probably be president now, but I would take that over all havoc Cheney engineered over the last 8 years. Of course, we always need to remember, as Bush was so fond of saying, he was the decider, and his decision to take Cheney's advice led to the near ruin of our country.

I know what you're saying Orbitboy

But after 8 years of Clinton, I think the extra chromosome right would have turned out for Bush even if he had named Mike Tyson as his running mate.

Powell would have swayed a lot of independents, and maybe a few democrats. It still would have been close, but it might have given Bush an actual win. We're literally talking about only a handful of votes.

Yeah, yeah, I know, everybody conservatives know in Canada and Europe hates it. Blah, blah, blah

The polls and statistics are all wrong because you know somebody there that hates it. Why you know thousands of people there that hate it, right, that's the ticket.

I have no doubt that if aliens from the planet Beltron landed tomorrow, and showed us they had created a perfect world, and they were going to teach us how to do it, and part of it involved universal healthcare with the equivalent of a single payer system. Republicans would instantly be posting to tell us how everybody they know on the planet Beltron hates it.

@Bob

Actually, Kennedy was not trying to abolish that law. He specifically said that he still supports holding a special election, but that the governor should be able name a temporary senator until the special election is held, so that MA wouldn't be denied two votes in the senate.

Pre existing condition

Yeah, they were polite, but I about fell out of my chair when the lady said she was for denying care based on pre existing conditions! I never imagined anyone outside of a health insurance CEO, or a nazi would be for that.

That is probably the most evil part of our health care system as it exists today. "You've already had that kind of cancer before, sorry, guess you'll just have to die. Now if you had a different kind of cancer then maybe we could talk(maybe)."

How can you even reason with somone that thinks people should die if they've already been sick, and for some reason had to change jobs? There is something wrong with these people, whether they're polite or not.

Please donate to my campaign

So that I can continue to fight against greater access to healthcare for you and keep the cost of healthcare as high as possible.

And the lemmings on the right grab their visa and give one of their oppressors more money to make their lives more more miserable.

There is something wrong with these people, and they deserve whatever people like this Wilson character do to them. The sad thing is that it affects the rest of us too.

Bush was an incompetent boob

But I'm not exactly surprised that he wasn't showering democrats with praise in private moments. I also find it hard to believe that he referred to anyone as a "cat". Of course, he was talking about a black man, so maybe he thought 40 year old slang was required.

More importantly, this new format was terrible!!!! There was nothing wrong with the old letters format, but if you were going to change it, why did you make it worse? I also thought my computer was having problems and clicked in and out of the letters a few times before I realized it was supposed to look like this. Please change it back!

Family Video

The Family Video chain opened some stores here a couple of years ago, and they're great! They ran the area Blockbusters out of business. Reasonable prices and courteous/knowledgable staff go a long way.

I had Netflix for a little while, but I prefer to go to a rental store. By the time I receive the DVD's in the mail, I'm out of the mood for the movie. I canceled my Netflix after I gave Family Video a shot and liked it.

They seem to be doing well, they said they're going to expand more next year. So I don't think video rental store is dead, people will come if it's worth going to.

SPECTRE

The republicans act as if ACORN is some enormous, global organization, like from one of those old James Bond movies. SPECTRE or SMERSH, it was one of those. It's just some rinky dink community outreach program even most democrats had never heard of until last year when the republicans got desperate and decided to manufacture an issue. The election is over, you don't have to keep pretending you care about ACORN.

There really is something wrong with these people.
