i've never had a greek chorus before. i must say i like it.
i tend to think that dems as the lesser of two evils, but often still sprouting from the same rancid plants.
and, no ... i am not a nader-wacko.
when push comers to shove, i agree ... what lieberman did was wholly self-serving, unabashedly uncool, and i think he is a germ that i want gone. i do think that the voters in ct should decide his fate, and i will donate to his replacement. i just don't think it's worth it to push, push, push on this front. i'd rather we all invest our emotional energy on figuring out how to get our $700 billion back, and out of the hands of possible thieves.
i know that the retort is: give good people committee chairs to insure this oversight. i agree. i just don't /necessarily/ think that being a dem, or not being a dem is a qualification for being "good." i say let lieberman stay, and remove the opportunity for him and the repubs to spin this as "obama is really a partisan" ... so we can focus on more important issues.
no. not ill. not those other chaps either.
i'm not trying to inflame here ... and i know that happens often in the comments section.
i am inviting folks to simply /consider/ that their sense of outrage around lieberman is ultimately a waste of energy, since there are bigger fish to fry.
i am also inviting folks to /consider/ that acting out of a sense of outrage ... while it can and does change the world ... can also perpetuate it's dysfunction.
i'm inviting folks to be grounded in their outrage, but means investing it wisely. i'm saying, for me, the lieberman keeps his chairmanship issue is not a wise investment.
:)
