To ANON: I thought I made it clear. High testosterone women are more assetive than low testosterone women. I doubt that there are many women CEO's with low testosterone. You can't have it both ways: if you want to compete with men you have to have more testosterone, but most men would not want to be married to you. But you could hit on your underlings. Very few men are likely to complain about sexual harassment. Those that would are considered to be "pussies." Interesting use of the word, but that is exactly the word that men would use. When I was seventeen I worked in a large office as the low status gofer. Being in rather good shape (I used to run up the 21 flights of stairs to the office) the female office manager used to hit on me. Being in her late 30's (and attractive) I thought she was awfully old. I should have succumbed to her, but being young and stupid I turned her down. Other women in the office used to grab me and kiss in the back hall, but they were all real old (late 20's to 30's). Boy was I stupid. It's fun to be around high-testosterone women, if you have any brains at all, which I didn't 'til a few years later. As I realized later, the screw you don't get is the one you'll never get. But all that was over 50 years ago. But I have fond memories of all those hot high-testosterone women.

Sorry Minerva, what is unfair is that the children will grow up and pay taxes to support you in your old age. You need to pay a large surtax and work an extra 20 hours a week to make up for your selfish decision to not supply the future workers of the nation. Refusing to have children and saying that children are a life-style choice is pretty stupid, and in a larger sense not even self-serving. We old people have friends who chose not to have children, under the misapprehension that they would be young and carefree forever. Seventy year olds look pretty stupid making the scene in their Porsche, or whatever toy they once thought was important.

On the other hand you are removing whatever stupidity motivates you from the gene pool, a positive gain for the human race.

Condi Rice is a perfect example of someone educated beyond her native ability. She has perfected the art of sucking up to those in power. She is able to devote herself to whatever she perceives as what the powerful want. Her skating and piano playing are early examples of her ability to totally devote herself to the desires of the powerful-her parents during her formative years. The hallmark of a true con-man (woman) is the ability to sound completely knowledgeable on the subject at hand, and not have any capability to act in a responsible way on the information. The crazy Texans got exactly the government they wanted to pursue their dreams of controlling the worlds oil, forgetting that competent and not-so-crazy people are required to implement any policy. Misguided policy plus idiots to implement it equals disaster. Condi should have remembered Santayana's dictum, after all she has a good education.

One of my "model-thin" daughters is in Europe on a business trip. She called the other day and in our conversation she mentioned that she felt normal in Europe, everyone was as slender as she is. Fat butts and bulging bellies are mostly an American phenomenon. However, the article brings up an important point. The typical runway model is not a healthy example of womanhood. I doubt if many of them could carry a backpack for a three or four-day expedition in the high country. Of course your typical American fatty couldn't either. As woman and men age the only defense against ugly fat and sagging is muscle. As the saying goes "beauty is only skin deep, but ugly goes clean to the bone." My wife is 65 and can easily claim to be in her late 40's or early 50's, because she is strong and capable and exercises to keep it that way. I have noticed that in upscale areas the women (and men) are much more slender and fit than in the more middle-class areas. A little social pressure goes a long way to keep us on the straight and narrow. At 73 I still love to flirt with good-looking women. There are still a few left on the high side of 55, but very few. Luckily there are very few men in that category, either. I have concluded that most people would rather be fat and ugly than slender and attractive. TFL.
