This Modern World

The incredible shrinking rightwingoverse: The smaller it gets, the crazier it gets!

Oh sformel...

You so craaaazay.

Here's the way it works, man, and pay close attention. White, black, Christian, Jew, Muslim, atheist, fat, tall, skinny or short, either you're for freedom and equality for all or you are wrong.

And, like it or not, freedom means a woman's right to choose, and a gays' right to wed.

This is one of those instances of freedom/equality > you.

All conservatives are wacko!

Hey-I've got a great idea how we can show that conservatives are all nuts; Lets show a strip of a white, Christian, employed male who pays all his taxes and belongs to a core family, inexplicably decrying the murder of 1.3 million babies a year, while irrationally supporting the execution of 38 murderers per annum.

This is sure to be a winner!

Sure your special Doc

But are you special in that special way where you're waitin' around in the bushes?

Wednesday, April 22, 2009 10:48 AM

You JOG Serafin ?

Why, why... how pinko of you! Real conservatives don't jog silly boy, they ride gas guzzling ATV, tearing through the woods and frightening small furry animals.

I do have a question though. If you jog in "God's Country", why do you have to be in fear of some pervert jumping out of the bushes at you? Aren't all the good folks where you live church-goin' righteous types? Perhaps you imported some libs to go out and shoot, and one got away?

@ roger37

I respect your opinion as a transplant to the "slave states", and I'm sure I know and am related to many folks who resemble your remarks, but please don't discount us all. There are many residents, like myself, who were born and raised in the south, love the region for and in spite of its complex history, and still retain our capacity for critical thought. Please don't abandon the 50 state strategy - I was THRILLED to see political campaigns that typically ignore us show up and take a stand, and the excitement of an election where the results from my state were NOT a foregone conclusion is something I truly hope to experience again.

If Texas secedes.....

....let's relocate Austin (except for the Governors Mansion); otherwise I'd miss it!

As far as the rest of the State is concerned.....who would care?

@ Omar Effendi -- (Special)

LOL

But what about me?

I'm special, too.

@ Miz Morton

"What would Jesus pack?"

I think he carries the .41 Remington magnum with the 8 3/8 inch barrel in blued steel. The last time he stopped by the ranch he also had a 30-40 Krag for a saddle gun.

You know, He just doesn't want to mess with sinners, no-how.

Please tell me it's not true...

"God's country?"

This seretin entity doesn't live in Oregon, does it!?!??! Gad. (Oregon being, of course, officially "god's country" - without the much of the "God" part, thankfully)

I knew they were having trouble with funding and had torn the "One flew over the cuckoo's nest" wing of the state mental hospital down... but....!?!?!??!

@serafin -- God's country?

What would Jesus pack?

@serafin

"Well we'd be out of this depression and scumbags like Ahmadinejadand and Chavez would not be pushing our president around like the school-yard-bitch."

-------------------

Riiiiiiiight. Those types who were chiefly to blame for putting us in this mess would've cured it by pursuing more of the same.

Ha, ha! You could be one of the first, main contributing members to that new clown site!

Or did you REALLY, SECRETLY mean that if McPalin had won, the news would've continued to lie, and at such an increased level that the "official" truth would be that "all is well," even as the poor got even more poor while the rich ran off to the bank with even bigger pallets of cash, and as environmental pollution and social corruption increased?

Because, in truth, in the eyes of the Republican intelligentsia, "the people" ARE the rich, and ONLY the rich. The rest of us are irrelevant statistics to be manipulated.

So, serafin, are you one of the tea-bagging dupes, or one of the greedy, lying, and all-around corrupt part of the intelligentsia? Because you're obviously not part of any ethical or truly moral solution.

@DoctorGreeves

@ Serafin

I hope you're talking about the .38 Special and not the .38.

Yes I mean the .38 special. Up here in God's Country we are permitted to carry a pistol with a permit. I got training and found that most pistols are a big pain in the butt and are heavy as hell and cumbersome and just not worth the bother. The only time I ever carry one now-a-days is when I jog on back wood trails far from civilization. The .38 (special) is light but I agree not much punch. I figure it's a "surprise-shoot-them-in-the-face-say-a-prayer-and-run-for-my-life-last-resort" gun.

Speaking of special

Did you go to one of those special schools when you were just a wee little psycho serafin? You're a real piece 'o work. The parents must be proud.

Tuesday, April 21, 2009 12:56 PM

OMG! The poster dude is back

Get a brain morans! Sigh. He's so cool. I want him in EVERY strip!Ahhhh...

Tuesday, April 21, 2009 12:46 PM

Thanks, Roger

Even though I worked registering voters for Obama's campaign down here, it does start to feel as if I (we--my family) are alone. The population has swelled to about 600,000 and "This Modern World" is even in the alternative paper here...but this place is SO hard to take, day to day. My college-age daughter has never forgiven us for transplanting her here...even though Missouri isn't all that much better.

Tuesday, April 21, 2009 12:42 PM

@ Serafin

I hope you're talking about the .38 Special and not the .38.

I doubt that there's a police department in the United States that would allow an officer to carry a .38, which might as well be a .32. In fact, my old 32-20 probably hits about as hard. Do yourself a favor and give that .38 to someone you don't like. A bare-bones 1911 in .45 ACP is the way to go if a person feels the need for a pistol.

Granted my pussy remark was a low blow. And you kept your cool. Way to go, Man.
