Awesome

Let's send our old shoes to the upcoming presidential library. I have some old snekers I use for yard work and the like that i would like to donate.

Monday, January 19, 2009 06:06 PM

I already mailed him my stinky old Converse low-tops

Staples has a shoe-box-size box. Costs about a buck. Postage a couple bucks. You can't just send it to the White House anymore. He is moving to Dallas. I will look for the new address, and I will post it here if I find it.

[Moving to Dallas... I can hear that Dallas theme song in my head already... W. is retiring to Dallas to spend more time with J.R.]

Shoo!!

I said SHOO!

Monday, January 19, 2009 06:36 PM

WOOT!

I have a pair of my late uncle's size 15 quadruple-e width combat boots in the attic I think. If one of those hits ya, you know what hit ya!

Everyone at Salon is cordially invited to join me tomorrow in writing "43" on a square of toilet paper so we can give W the flushing he deserves!

It's a new national craze!

Monday, January 19, 2009 07:34 PM

One of my dreams come true.

Now for the investigations and prosecutions!

Thanks, Tom.

Shoes

There aren't enough shoes in the world.

Monday, January 19, 2009 08:08 PM

It's a beautiful thing.

But I am going to save a few shoes for the next administration, who apparently are going to let these torturers and law-breaking bastards get away scot-free.

Monday, January 19, 2009 08:27 PM

Before I Toss My Shoe

I'm goin' out to the dog yard and find sumpthin' to step in.

Monday, January 19, 2009 08:38 PM

Before you cheer, . . .

. . . make sure you've won.

They aren't gone yet.

FOX is still here.

There may yet be a comeback.

Put your shoes back on and let's get back to work.

Ideas for viral videos

Based on the real shoe-throwing video:

1. Guy with a radar gun standing behind Bush. Holds up radar gun to "clock" each shoe throw.

2. After the second "brush-back" shoe pitch, Bush throws down bat and "storms the mound."

3. Shoe-thrower screams, "This'll teach ya to trade Sammy Sosa, ya bum!"

4. Umpire standing behind Bush picks up each shoe, checks the stitching, hands it to a catcher who throws it back to the "pitcher."

Who'd of thought the most heroic individual in the whole entire Iraq War...

Day after day...year after year...news after news...would be an Iraqi journalist...and his pair of shoes?

A toast to W:

The Gold Standard of Rock Bottom.

DO NOT FORGET

I saw a movie with three of my favorite actors . "The Pride And The Passion" is the movie . It is about a large cannon the people were dragging across Spain to breach the walls of a strong fort . In one scene after dragging the cannon through a pass where they suffered many casualties they looked back and saw bodies in the hundreds laying in the path behind them . When we look back from where we have traveled with the out going Admin we see a similar scene . 9/11 was a bad thing in the eyes of most of the world and we have been doing bad things to suspects because of it . In the eyes of the world we do go after criminals . In the eyes of the world and to most of us we have leaders that are criminals and the world knows we know it to be true . If the crimes our leaders commited are equal to the 9/11 crimes shouldn't our leaders get the same treatment ? If not , then crime does pay because our leaders enhanced their wealth immensely .

battle cry

No truth, no reconciliation!

Battle Cry (with improved punctuation)

No truth?

No reconciliation!

Monday, January 19, 2009 10:46 PM

hard choice...

Soccer shoes, golf shoes, or baseball shoes?

Monday, January 19, 2009 11:26 PM

What was the name...

...of that shoe bomber guy they dragged off a flight and er..tortured?

Monday, January 19, 2009 11:32 PM

Hmm, this poses a physics question...

Is the weight of two Timberland hiking boots thrown at maximum force enough to knock shame into Bush? Bet not...;)

Tuesday, January 20, 2009 12:00 AM

Word!

I love you tom tomorrow.

Tuesday, January 20, 2009 01:59 AM

haha

I know this Obama inauguration is supposed to be all about Hope and "Yes We Can" and good feelings and goodwill, but I just can't help but feel like saying "GOODBYE, BUSH AND CHENEY, AND GOOD RIDDANCE!"

Tuesday, January 20, 2009 02:03 AM

@Spectacular

A day-and-a-half after Hurricane Katrina, when everybody knew that New Orleans was filling up with water, newspaper reported that Condoleezza Rice was in New York City watching "Spamalot" and shopping for expensive designer shoes.

So, for Condi, throw stilettos.

Tuesday, January 20, 2009 02:16 AM

Seize the Shoe!

CARPE SCARPE

Tuesday, January 20, 2009 03:07 AM

Horseshoes are best

To bring us luck that we'll never see their likes again.

Tuesday, January 20, 2009 03:50 AM

Shoe throwers against terrorists

A short time after 9/11, an airline pilot (United I think) came on the intercom on his flight with a request to the passengers. Should someone try to hijack this plane, please throw your shoes at him. All of you. A fitting response to the guy who hijacked the US from Americans.

Tuesday, January 20, 2009 04:05 AM

Gotta take your adulation where you can get it, I guess

Among those who think Bush did an absolutely bang-up job as President are Vince McMahon and his World Wrestling Entertainment organization. The link below shows a screenshot of the Chimperor being awarded a championship belt. I'm assuming it's honorary, although color commentator Jerry "The King" Lawler did refer to Bush as "the Champion of the Troops!" during the segment.

bye-bye bush league

Amen, brother Ben. Said it once, and I'll say it again. Amen, brother Ben. Thanks. Felt almost as good as throwing a shoe myself.

Tuesday, January 20, 2009 06:16 AM

Wait! Condi Rice is black...

We MUST support her! My White Guilt... so. conflicted.

Tuesday, January 20, 2009 06:17 AM

Goodbye, Shitfuck

Please post your farewell messages here:

Tuesday, January 20, 2009 06:19 AM

@ JoeMommaSan

And I bet the George and Laura display that belt with pride over the mantle!

A friend once ate at the White House and she brought back the menu: of course, it was course after course of fancy French food. But for Bush voters, those fans of professional wrestling, George pretended to eat ribs.

Tuesday, January 20, 2009 06:20 AM

Why Start Now?

As if any one of those louts gives a rat's ass what anyone in this country thinks of them. Shoes? Screw that! Guillotines. Now THERE's a fitting farewell salute!

Tuesday, January 20, 2009 06:31 AM

Good Riddance

to bad rubbish

Tuesday, January 20, 2009 06:31 AM

I'd prefer the giant Monty Python foot squashing them flat.

But a hailstorm of flying shoes will do fine, too.

Goodbye and good riddance to the Bush Administration. Our long national nightmare is finally over.

Tuesday, January 20, 2009 06:54 AM

But wait

Aren't you the morons who promised Martial Law, atomic war and dictatorship for life?

You promised.
