How I would like to see history remember the Cheney/Bush administration...

..."hanged for treason."

But whoever said upthread that they would be prosecuted right after Kissinger was, sadly, correct.

@ Deering

Well, sheeeeeet! I should be one of them Hollywood elites!

@kuhnigget...

Hey, wasn't that an episode-turned-movie of Showtime's "Masters of Horror?"

;)

@ cusmique

Okay, how about this scenario:

Bushie goes on a bender, gets a serious case of alcohol-induced heebie jeebies, ends up in a psychiactric ward screaming about hordes of the walking dead coming to get him. The twist? There really are hordes of walking dead - U.S. soldiers and Iraqi civilians - going after him. See Night of the Living Dead for what happens next.

@BJD Cruz

Yes. You are correct. And?

@ kohnigget

>> Guess how long before Georgie goes on a bender, drives into a tree, and takes a sudden "vacation" at a celebrity detox clinic.

I will take that bet, because it is clear from the interviews I have seen that ole W is in complete and utter denial, and he is damn good at convincing himself he did nothing at all wrong.

Unfortunately. I'd prefer he be haunted with his horrible acts and what they've done to people... and nations... and the world.

Tuesday, December 30, 2008 05:56 PM

Let's do to Bush what the republicans did to Clinton...

blame him for everything that goes wrong the next four years.

Tuesday, December 30, 2008 04:38 PM

The only thing better than the door hitting this scum on the way out...

...would be if it decapitated him as well...and we got to see his head on a pike on Pennsylvania Avenue. Bush and his crew were right about one thing--sometimes, the old ways were best...:).

Tuesday, December 30, 2008 04:29 PM

@hawkpsd

Perhaps the awareness and preparations to fight such democracy destroying moves is what kept the Bush Admin from doing just that. Perhaps loosing the midterms in 2006 also put a crimp in their plan, since now congress could in fact voice opposition.

Tuesday, December 30, 2008 03:19 PM

Very weak, TT.

Apparently most of us still don't get it. If Bush and Cheney (at the very least) aren't punshied for violating our Constitution and the Geneva Conventions, and lying us into an illegal war, this is in no way over at all, Obabma or no. If lawbreakers (the biggest in human history, or at least the biggest in our country's history) don't face justice for their crimes, there is NO STOPPING THIS FROM HAPPENING AGAIN, OVER AND OVER.

"Get lost"? Not nearly enough. NOT NEARLY ENOUGH!

Are we a nation of laws or aren't we?

anyone..

Anyone who really paid attention to the 2000 debates knew what was what: intellect versus frat-house glad handing. The morons didn't win the election, but their lawyers won the litigation. At the time, I resented Gore for conceding, but understood that he was being, well, Al Gore, Southern gentleman.

No one in the history of America has been less deserving of the title of President of the United States that frat-boy, AWOL, combat avoiding Yale legacy and raconteur George W. Bush.

But rejecting study, critical thinkers and great ideas has always been the theme of the playbook of scoundrels like Bush and the GOP as it exists in its current form; the only idea Bush has ever had is that he truly is first among equals.

He never earned the right. A shit-filled shoe is too good for him. Drowning in pigs blood too poetic.

Fuck George W. Bush.

reaction to thatbob

Thatbob wrote:

"I join Sgt. Rock in thinking that "Goodbye" is too good for the man. We need to hold him and Cheney and Rumsfeld and Gonzales and Woo and one or two others in the public eye for another decade or so, if we want to do the right thing and hold them accountable for their war crimes.... It's probably too much to hope for, but until Jan 20 I can dream, right guys? Sigh...."

Well said. But it seems to me those who still believe that Bush's policies were justifiable need the opinion of a world body such as the World Court to face the egregious immorality of the George Bush-Dick Cheney administration. Too many from the right wing of the Republican Party are even now trying to paint the strong showing of Obama as merely a 'pendulum swing' instead of a rejection. Without a trial -- a real trial with lawyers, judges, and consequences -- the right wing of the Republican Party may never realize the enormity of the crimes committed at their bidding.

That door needs to make contact about mid-temple.

Not with trainwreck force, mind you.

Just hard enough to stereotactically immobilze him, while the ICC boys fit him with bracelets and a bright orange jumpsuit.

Thank God for term limits!!!

The cartoon was humorus but the last 8 years have been a nightmare!

That poor excuse of an administration needs to be held accountable for almost ruining our country! Too many of our military have put in harms way because of the neocons. GET OUT...GET OUT NOW!!!

Tuesday, December 30, 2008 09:04 AM

21 days and counting...tick, tick, tick

It can't happen fast enough. But, to the folks who think he'll get his just desserts in some sort of court of law, you'll probably be highly disappointed. My prediction is that Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, et al, will be prosecuted criminally shortly after Kissinger is.
