  • OVERKILL

What happened? How did so many of my generation that were Hippies end up buying into the bigger is better theory? The seventies were about saving the earth and then we went on to fast forward its destruction. I bring this subject up everytime I see a fool in an automobile so big they can't even park it correctly. I still drive a Corolla. When my 1975 Corolla was 14 years old we drove with our two kids all the way from Texas to Guatemala. Parts of the trip were on umpaved roads and much of it mountainous. The idea that you need a large vehicle for these trips is bunk. Yeah, I've ridden in a few cars that were so comfortable that you felt like you were in someone's den but for traveling back and forth to work and play that is total overkill.
