The media's big to do about nothing

You tell it straight Tom. Nicely said.

Monday, May 5, 2008 06:44 PM

This one actually made me laugh

I'm not usually a big fan of Tom Tomorrow but this was a good one. I'm a conservative but have to admit that Hannity is a jackass quite a bit of the time. And, yes, Jeremiah Wright's ego could not tolerate anything other than "dominating the news cycle for a week." Proud of it! Both Barack and Hillary are completely disingenuous about basic relationships in their lives. And, finally, the beard on Wolf Blitzer is as a silly as Tom draws it and, yes, the cable networks do fill about 53 minutes of every hour with total crap. But, you know what, I would take all this meaningless BS over living in a country where elections can actually get you killed any day. You know you live in a great country when you can live your own life however you want and it doesn't really matter who gets elected.

Monday, May 5, 2008 06:55 PM

Wow.

So out of all the images in that strip. Salon chooses the one with Obama.

Funny that.

One more frame

This Clinton supporter loved this cartoon. I would have added a frame though:

Obama wasn't REALLY talking about how people are bitter because the economy is bad and so they have turned to religion for comfort.

He meant what he said, and he said that people in small towns go to church and hunt because they are too stupid and confused to sort out their emotional reaction to bad economic conditions.

Monday, May 5, 2008 07:00 PM

you said it

Just another reminder that elections are like menstruation. Regular and reassuring in their presence, but mostly annoying.

Monday, May 5, 2008 07:06 PM

Hey this is fun

Obama doesn't REALLY believe voters in Florida and Michigan should be included in the Democratic nominee selection process.

He wants to win "affirmative action" style and sent his lawyers to those states to throw up obstacles to any chance of a re-vote, and opposed seating the delegates as they are.

Monday, May 5, 2008 07:07 PM

Obama doesn't REALLY believe

Obama doesn't REALLY believe a position in favor of relief from the gas tax is pandering that no politician should engage in. He did the same thing when he was an Illinois state senator!

Monday, May 5, 2008 07:10 PM

Obama doesn't REALLY believe he's qualified

Obama doesn't REALLY believe experience doesn't matter. And he doesn't even believe he's qualified to be president!

In 2005, just after he was elected to his first Senate term, he said he was too inexperienced and ethical to run for president this year:

"I'm a believer in knowing what you're doing when applying for a job, and I think that if I were seriously consider running on a national ticket, I would essentially have to start now before having served a day in the Senate. Now, there are some people who would be comfortable doing that, but I'm not one of those people."

@lolcait

You are a pathetic loser.

When will you come to grips with the fact that Obama beat Clinton? In a fight as fair as it gets in American politics?

Do we have to put up with your whining until November?

Monday, May 5, 2008 07:14 PM

lolcait =

lolcait = why "they" hate America

Monday, May 5, 2008 07:32 PM

Huzzah, Tuesday Comics

Is this Tuesday gig going to be a regular thing? I'll drink to that.

Not sure if I get this one, but I laughed quite loudly at the "53 minutes" bit.

Monday, May 5, 2008 08:14 PM

partisans confuse forest, trees

newsflash to both Obama and Clinton cultists: the point is that all of you are stupid, not that either side is right

Monday, May 5, 2008 08:32 PM

Wolf Blitzer:"Does Obama's long time mailman secretly hate America?"

That was brilliantly funny.

Monday, May 5, 2008 09:25 PM

Then why didn't everyone elect Charles Lindbergh in 1940

He just got a medal from Hitler. He wasn't Hitler. Really, the idea that people should held to account for their own beliefs is simply unfair, unfair I tell you.

Monday, May 5, 2008 10:00 PM

Standard Operating Procedure for CNN etc.

These 24/7 news stations do this all the time. Tom Tomorrow must have just locked in because he likes Obama, but you can see this same overkill everyday on CNN and Fox. It would be far to expensive to actually cover 24 hours of news so they pick one topic a day and go at it like a mutt on a hambone. If you are sane, you turn this off right away before your mind gets cluttered with their babbling bulshoi.

Monday, May 5, 2008 10:26 PM

Electro

Hitler was doused with petrol and burned to ashes, so you might have a hell of a time finding and reassembling those minute atomic particles, glueing them together, and then running them for the democratic nomination. All my best. Good luck fuck-wit!

Monday, May 5, 2008 10:29 PM

Now now child no reason to go all Tourette's on me

I'm not your crack whore mom.

Monday, May 5, 2008 11:40 PM

Ooo yeah!

Up your little drama and talk 'bout my momma.

Tuesday, May 6, 2008 02:22 AM

Who's Kidding Whom?

Whaddayawant? Good grammar or good taste?

Tuesday, May 6, 2008 02:32 AM

I want more war and I want more killing

I want good grammer but with much less filling.

Tuesday, May 6, 2008 06:42 AM

lolcait doesn't REALLY believe

...that she should take her meds.

Tuesday, May 6, 2008 07:03 AM

Arguing on the Internet

is like being in the Special Olympics. Even if you win, you are still retarded.

Tuesday, May 6, 2008 07:48 AM

Tom Tomorrow - Equal Opportunity Satirist - Hooray

Not a shriekingly funny cartoon, but interesting, because it's the first time I've seen Tom Tomorrow rake Obama a bit. TT is a clearly an Obama fan, so it's fun to see him prod Obama on a certain disingenousness in dealing with Pastor Wright.

Tuesday, May 6, 2008 09:23 AM

Now that electro has given Limbergh the ringing endorsement...

...maybe he/she/it can be convinced to crawl back into whatever dung pile int emerged from...

Tuesday, May 6, 2008 10:04 AM

@Poco

Thanks, best laugh I've had all week!

Tuesday, May 6, 2008 10:20 AM

Today's posts are funnier

than the comic, in a Don Rickles sort of way. I love it when manos starts rhyming.

Tuesday, May 6, 2008 11:55 AM

Frisco Bunny

I see that Clinton supporters are once again dredging up Obama's bitterness comments and once again mischaracterizing them. Obama said economic factors are causing some small town people to cling to guns 'n' God. He NEVER said - or even implied - that EVERYONE who believes in God or guns was delusional or "clinging." That inference was created by the Clinton campaign in between implying that Obama was a turban-wearing foreigner, a Reagan-loving Republican, and an America-hating '60 radical by association.

Tuesday, May 6, 2008 12:55 PM

Those wacky beliefs!

Rev. Wright believes the US govt may have sponsored the AIDS epidemic.

Hmmmmmm....

Time magazine says over 30% of all Americans believe the govt had a hand in the 9/11 Twin Tower attacks.

If Obama could just get them all to vote for him!

Tuesday, May 6, 2008 06:07 PM

@Javelina13

One word: Tuskegee.

As for calling political bullshit political bullshit, hey.

When you're right you're right.

Consequently, would all the obama and clinton fanbois stop sniping at each other, please? This rabid vitriol's why the media constantly covers this political bullshit.

It's polarizing, neither of them are god, both of them are better by far than mccain, and if I hear one more idiot say he's not voting because the 5% difference in obama and clinton's policy positions turns them off I'm going to drive to his house and sodomize him with a roto-rooter.

Y'hear me!?
