that the American Empire is well into its death spiral, and that we need more than just some light tinkering and policy reform to effect a soft and graceful landing. It will take wholesale cultural and social change and a thorough political housecleaning to include BOTH corrupt parties. I also hope that realistic Americans also grasp that such profound change in the US is highly unlikely in the absence of a major calamity of a severity greater than a steep recession or a strategic setback in Iraq. I hope that more than a few thousand Americans read the books The Twilight of American Culture and Dark Ages America: The End of Empire by Morris Berman to comprehend the depths of the abyss into which we're now staring.

I'm number 2, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 12.

Number 1 I don't have to worry about because I can't even afford, or qualify, to buy a house in the overpriced real estate market that is Southern California; despite earning a salary that is in the high five figures.

Number 3 I don't think I have to worry about because of the requirements of my job industry (requires US Citizenship). Number 4 I don't have to worry about because I'm not in the Marine Corps anymore.

Numbers 5, & 6 I don't have to worry about because I don't have any children, so all I have to worry about is lead on my pets toys, or toxic chemicals in their food (call that one 6a).

Finally, I really don't have to worry about Number 11 because I live in Southern California, and Global Warming will take care of the any winters here in the future for the rest of my foreseeable lifespan.
