  • sorry for posting multiple times

I didn't hit 'post' three times. But when I hit 'post' the first time, I think the 5pm rush hit and my internet went slow and the salon website went away and I had to hit refresh a couple times.

I guess it resulted in multiple posts. weird.

  • Imperfect Candidates

Maybe if the lot of you weren't a bunch of spineless diaper wearing equivalent cowards and actually stood up for what you believed, or, better yet, actually believed something (it helps to read, and turn off CNN once in a while) then maybe we wouldn't be faced with choosing from the three most milquetoast Demo crapdidates the beltway Pol machine can throw at us.

  • Dems are so conflicted

Anything less than a billion % perfect is unacceptable.

  • I'm not conflicted. I'm also not voting for Bush-Lite or The Empty Suit.

Anything less than a billion % perfect is unacceptable.

I'd honestly settle for 75% perfect. What I won't do is vote for more of the same (only with a vagina) or a clueless hypocrite (only with a slightly darker complexion). Clinton and Obama will both never get my vote for anything.

Fortunately, they're not the only Democrats running. Dodd gets my vote in the primary. If either Clinton or Obama are the nominee, I'll write in Dodd. If any other Democrat is the nominee, however, they'll get my vote in the general election.

  • Re: sorry for posting multiple times (juneausmog)

It was a good post. It was worth reading three times.

My feeling about Hillary-bashing is, what's the point, unless you're a Republican?

If you're a liberal/progressive, you ought to be getting your keister in gear and getting behind the Democratic candidate that you prefer. Get out there and help the campaign. Post letters talking about why Obama, or Kucinich, or Edwards, or Gravel, or whoever, is the superior candidate. (Chris Dodd had a particularly good day, FWIW.) Contribute money, if you've got it.

Regardless of what the corporate media says, the Democratic nominee has not yet been chosen. There's a couple of months or more before things solidify, and results of caucuses and primaries in the leading states cause the least-loved candidates to drop out.

Until this happens, your anti-Hillary snark does NOTHING to put more money in Dennis Kucinich's "coffers" (whatever the heck they are); it doesn't give one more vote or delegate to John Edwards; it doesn't get Mike Gravel back into any debates. It only plays into the Republican strageridgey, and helps THEM, at no cost.

You're doing Karl Rove's work for free. And he's laughing about it.

Ronald Reagan was right. You don't denigrate fellow Democrats. That just helps the other side.

Now, once the Democrats officially choose their candidate at the convention, and if it turns out to be Senator Clinton, you have a choice: you can hold your nose, or you can be out there actively supporting the Republicans.

But here's the thing - if you work hard enough for your chosen candidate, you may never have to make that choice.

  • In addition...

I'm really impressed by the volume of intelligent letters about a cartoon. Good job, Mr.Tomorrow!

  • Okay Hillbots, here is the thing

TT was right in 2000 about Gore. He was running without any of the qualities he has taken up now that those elections are over.

The whole 2000 election was basically "Who will be the most harmless" and America ended up with the most harmful candidate possible.

IF the Democrats had actually run Gore as something other then a blank he would have won. Don't blame the independents because your party failed in its marketting and took its base for granted.

You know, just like you morons are trying to do with 2008. The left does not owe you its vote, it does not have to vote for you it can vote independent and it can tell you to go fuck yourselves.

Now, Gore is a strong candidate, in 2000 he was a zombie.

The cartoon highlights an example of why Hillary cannot win in 2008, she doesn't take a stand. She hasn't actually answered any of the questions on her policy decisions.

She giggled off questions about her vote on Iran and then attacked the person asking the question because somehow, her making the exact same mistake twice is not an indication of the fact that she will not make a good president.

She has alienated the youth vote by following in what amounts to Jack Trick lunacy, and she does not have the ability to pull the Religious Right. She could birth the reincarnation of Jesus and she would not have the ability to pull the American religious right.

She is falling in the polls despite her huge money train. She is falling behind because she is not an appealing candidate, and unlike Gore, who has since risen to being something, she doesn't show any signs of becoming something.

Obama and Edwards have a chance at winning, Hillary does not. She doesn't even really rally the liberal movement and while you guys seem to think that someone actually standing for the very things you would like to see happen is a minus, the rest of us have noticed what happens to weasel candidates.

If Gore stood firm on his liberal ideals, he would have won in 2000. That he didn't win was not because he was too far left, it was because he didn't stand firm. His electoral strategists where wussies who should have really just admitted that they were working for the Bush campaign.

Clinton will not be Gore II, she will be Kerry II, this time with people who actively hate her voting. Even if she wins you will lose, she will dither on Iraq, fail on public healthcare and leave you with more examples the rightwing can use to paint the Democrats as spineless.

If Hillary wins the Democrats will lose in 2008. Vote for someone who can win.

  • The caption that made me spit powdered fresh orange juice....How you drew Gary Owen

....I spit and giggled all over the keyboard.

The comment: When T.T. had G.O. say, "She's just like" me, Mr. Gary Owen.

Don't Forget: Gary Owen is spelled with one "r". G.O. has different reproductive organs.

    The trouble with Hellary?

    The trouble with Garrrry?

    The trouble with Anodise?

  • She Is Not Presidential

You can hope, you can wish, you can ignore, but this lady's marginal past will not go away. Her claim to fame is that she slept with a former president. Unfortunately, this does not equate with the requisite experience for the job of president of the United States. Her negativies, shrill demeanor and the meanness she has shown in the past disqualify her from receiving my independent vote.
