Oh, for those happy, carefree days of the president and the intern.
  • TT's raised a point the MSM should have several years ago

Of course, that's hardly new. But I was recently thinking that the MSM talks about waterboarding as if it was the ONLY form of torture ever devised by man or done by thugs -- and sadly, our thugs. I think that may be because the dear sweet gentle Ive League people in the newsrooms of Washington and New York can't fathom that there are people who will also:

    > strip someone naked and refrigerate that person while headphones blast overwhelming rock music into his ears,

    > stuff someone head-first into a sleeping bag and beat the bejeesus out of the guy while he's nearly suffocating,

    > apply electrical shocks to al sotrs of sensitive areas of the naked human body,

or any other cruel activity that they can think of. Maybe it's part of the continuing drive for softer and softer langauge, sort of like the way that "young thug" became "juvenile delinquent" which became "youthful offender." So, much the way that massacres and pogroms have become "ethnic cleansing" (that term was originally a shameful euphism by the Milosevich regime), torturing captive human beings has become simply and collectively "waterboarding."
