But can the Dems softpedal and baby step their way to glory?

Yes indeed, the Bush gang have so badly damaged the cause of conservatism, it's going to take continued acts of extreme spinelessness on the part of the Democrats to screw up the 2008 election.

But because the Neocons have so flagrantly violated the constitution, alienated all our allies, spied on my grandmother, and spent nearly a trillion dollars to wreck Iraq---I think voters will punish Rommney with an embarassingly slim presidential win. No landslide for Mitt.

* As Previously Revealed By This Cartoon...

Could someone point to that previous cartoon, mentioned in the first frame, from the archives? I don't remember that one but I'd love to read it.

Where the fuck is Sparky, Dan?

Don't make me come over there!

Thanks for the link, lrsigman

Wow. And from two years ago. It all sounds like as good an explanation as any for the way these idiots have run things in to the ground. As long as it's the right people doing it, the "Conservative Movement" would cheer on the end of the world.

Oh my f#@king gawd...

How I wish this were true. You almost made me cry.

Only, there's no way any true hippie would have killed so many people for even as noble a goal as discrediting conservatism once and for all.

Before the fall

I think that if the Dems lose this election, and there is a chance they will, it will be the end of the Democratic party as a national party for the next several decades, if it ever recovers at all. We will have reached the point, where in American terms there is a one party system and no real effective or functioning term limits. Of course that would make us like Venezuela which is so stingingly funny it hurts.

Hmmm.

Given the way things are going - as honestly satirized in this comic - I'm starting to seriously consider there could be such a thing as a "Liberal Republican", which incredibly calls for Democrats to defect en masse, and liberalize the Republican party from within.

I mean, if the Democratic party is a dying thing, why keep riding it like a dead horse? It's just so crazy it might work.

The radical left's conspiracy

That is pretty close to the truth although you focus on the wrong parties. After being infiltrated by the government a project was initiated to infiltrate the government and more effectively manipulate those in power to do that which would lead to their downfall.

Remember pigasus? That pig was the prototype for the Bush presidency.

Don't believe it? We have guys running for president in BOTH parties, much to the chagrin of the keeper's of the faith. Respect for government, corporations and news media is at an all time low and the war on terror is generally acknowledged to be a phony scam to rip off taxpayers and sell weaponry.

Give them enough rope and they will hang themsleves.
