  • What's missing here tonight?

My routine has been disrupted by the new posting policy. I was really expecting to see, well, you know...

  • The Right's Version of "Optimism"

I caught a little bit of that McCain piece on 60 Minutes and I was struck with the idea that he's trying to stake the same space on the Right that Obama does on the Left - he's the one peddling "optimism"...it just shows how low they've sunk that optimism on the Right means saying "well we didn't TOTALLY bung things up!"

  • Just so our lives are complete

    Phoned.

    It.

    In.

Okay, Mr. Scaife, can I have my money now?

  • I thougt it was funny.

    ditto

  • Not a Fuffy and Happy fan

I am not a big fan of Fluffy bunny and Happy mouse. I just don't like the way they look. To me they look too adult. They are good vehicles for satire but I would like them to be more cute.

At this point I think the whole "liberal media" including TT have ridden the debacle in Iraq as far is it will go without water. McCain in Baghdad wearing body armor, and saying how safe it is, was comedy theater all by itself.

I sort of wish TMW would go after the Democratic Pre$idential candidates, particularly the front runners who are showing we may again get the best Pre$ident money can buy. Clinton and Obama raising $25 million each at this point is astounding. That Obama refuses to take a stand on vital issues like health care is even more so.

Iraq is a tired horse that will not change in the next few months. In the mean time the media mogels and coporate interests are choosing our next Pre$ident for us. Just because there is a D after their name does not mean they are not bought and paid for. The fact that the MSM only wants to cover fund raising and not issues in the race demonstrates how shallow and manipulative they are.

As an aside. The new Salon letter posting policy will stop trolls and sockpuppets. A welcome change from my perspective.

  • Minor tweak?

The final McCain baloon should read, "Isn't it more fun this way?" XD

    ...

  • McCain

Looks like a white haired Tommy Thompson. Who's also, for some stupid reason, running for Preznidunt, too.

  • Wasting Torpedos On A Sinking Ship

Tom Tomorrow, the Republican Party is like the cruise ship that hit a reef in the Mediterranean last week and sank, apparently in part due incompetence or inattention on the part of the captain, who is consequently facing charges. Messieurs Bush, Cheney, Rove, Rumsfelt, and their minions have shown such monumental incompetence over the last 6 years that the Party they head has hit several reefs and is settling in the water. Maybe it can be salvaged, but that operations will take many years. Anyone like McCain who defends their biggest bungle, the Iraq invasion and occupation, or any part of the neocon program can no longer be taken seriously. As has been pointed out, they provide their own ironical satire. Their own illusions have now become their worst enemies, because their actions are woefully misguided in dealing with real problems.

A Democratic sweep of the magnitude of 1936 is in the offing and can only be precluded by the fumbling of Democratic candidates and the promotion of the most unpopular among them by the mainstream media, owned by corporations that have benefited from Bush's policies. Indeed, we see this with the big money going to "moderate" candidates when what the people really want is a total realignment of priorities in Washington, DC. So please, Mr. Tomorrow, let the Republicans slide into their own morass for a while and tell us a little about the hypocrites in the Democratic party, one of whom just may be our next President.

  • Love the body armor

....it's the little things in these Tom Tomorrow pieces that really give them the extra-special sauce - in this case, the body armor artwork.....

thanks, Tom! keep up the good work and please resist the concern trollidge regarding "time to focus on those Dem frontrunners" - you'll know when/where to skewer them, and you certainly don't need any advice for Salon's Resident Repository for Shut-In Libertarians (TM).
