STOP, YOU'RE KILLING ALL OF US!
The insight rings painfully true: "...aid and comfort to the enemies of this administration" is exactly the overriding and animating force driving the stuff these people call policy -- a term they must abhor since the root word might be "Police". Such an obsessive focus on CYA techniques at this late stage can only be regarded as BushCo's as yet unacknowledged recognition of their absolute failure coupled with the DTs that result from a particularly severe case of where's-muh-bottle-born-uh'gin guilt.
