THE STRIP IS BETTER THAN THE SHOW -- BY FAR
I've tried to watch "24" now and again, but it strikes me as too much of a fantasy about too real a problem. And, frankly, the show looks exactly like what we see here: people talking on the phone (emphatically or in a whisper). Thanks for reassuring me that, by not watching, I'm not missing a thing.

I thought it was pretty funny
It's all about how right wingers are better at blaming everyone in sight for their own failures than they are at taking responsibility for anything.
I mean, ROTFL, let's face it: Take away the whining, and what have they got left? Nothing.
America is going to go down in history as being the only country to ever give power to a political movement based entirely on childish self pity, LOL.

You have only to take the door
Hey, if you don't like TMW, you're only a click away from the exit. Take it.

"America is going to go down in history as being the only country to ever give power to a political movement based entirely on childish self pity, LOL."
That's the most insane thing I've ever read. What does it even mean? Who's pitying? Is America pitying the Republicans? Are the Republicans pitying themselves? What about the fall of the Weimar Republic? The Dixiecrats? The North Manchester Free Trade and Pity Party?
And did you end your twisted, ill-informed reduction with 'LOL'? Is that a 'ROTFL' up there? You leave me no choice, sir, but to assume this post is an abortive exercise in sycophantic parody. Liberal reactionaries in an internet vacuum... we'd make a great Tom Tomorrow strip. So sad, it's funny!

and while we're here...
Can we declare a moritorium on the "if you don't like it, leave" argument? Or does it only sound ridiculous when it's coming from right-wing xenophobes? I infer from your statement that any time you have the option of expressing a negative opinion of something or someone, you refrain. After all, it's so easy to shut your mouth. Traffic jams, banner ads, the lamentable lack of funding for rocket cars... if you don't like something, don't talk about it! It's so tedious.

If you don't like it leave/switch it off/eat something else
Brad, do you eat shit sandwiches and then complain about it?

Can someone name me...
A comic which *doesn't* re-use the same sorts of characters, themes, humor?
You can say this about pretty much any of them.
"We get it, the Peanuts dirty kid with the blanket."
"We get it, Dennis is doing something to annoy his parents or the neighbors."
"We get it, some Far Side animal is saying something self-referential and/or anthropomorphic."
And so on.
I'm terribly impressed by Tom Tomorrow's ability to keep the strip as fresh as he does; and I think it has an important message. Who here could do better at taking the theme of his strip - a theme I like better than most strips - and find a twist every week on it?
It's among my favorites as a result.
