Gravity

Each particle of matter attracts every other particle with a force which is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them.

So said Newton.

Einstein had a more complicated theory.

It ain't over yet. The Pioneer spacecraft is not responding as expected. We live in a universe of unknowns.

I needed that

I had almost forgotten how funny Colbert can be. This was a great reminder of his best performance.

Tragedy becomes farce

"The American leader, who has been condemned throughout his presidency for failing to tackle climate change, ended a private meeting with the words: 'Goodbye from the world's biggest polluter.'

He then punched the air while grinning widely, as the rest of those present including Gordon Brown and Nicolas Sarkozy looked on in shock."

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/2277298/President-George-Bush-'Goodbye-from-the-world's-biggest-polluter'.html

-- really, what can one possibly add to that? The man is a complete disgrace and an embarrassment to the country.

@jfriesne

Bush is just a puppet ........ for greedy evil corporatists and a symbol of a corrupt for-sale Congress/political system ....

How about blame for the american fools who put him in office twice ....

And our whole petty entertainment based culture is an embarrassment ....

...and counting...

Five (5) months and seven (7) days. Hold your breath. With any luck...

Mr. Breathed's Steve is a buffoon, but in real life, he's a common buffoon, as...

...lots of people trust their unexamined feelings. It's likely most people who do this.

I agree with the poster that Bush voters are responsible for Bush. I have a few self-described libertarians on my street or what I call, "Bush voters who won't admit to voting for Bush."

AH HA, physics for Republicans

I've always loved Opus and his precursor Bloom County, BUT lately I love it even more. Opus is the perfect forum for political satire! Viva la comics! Where would our country be without political cartoonists? Probably under the rule of the British. I remember seeing woodcut political cartoons from the colony days. It's a fine tradition that some short sighted newspapers have cut short by eliminating the support of the traditional editorial cartoonists. People like Berkeley B. and Gary T. have stepped into the breach. My husband wonders why I religiously read the comics before anything else on Sunday. This comic says it ALL. THANK YOU Mr. Breathed!

Shame on Salon!

According to the advanced research division of the Kansas Board of School Governors there's no such thing as 'gravity'; instead, the phenomenon of sagging butts can be explained using the theory of 'intelligent falling'.

Gravity. and yes to Blue Amberol.

Also: If Steve visits rural area farm folk....

If a lady or man walks through a field....

He's agree about 'our' gravity theories...

Overheard during every harvest day party.

`Look at those two groundhogs wiggling.

`Those vegetable eaters are plump rumps.

`Look. Cute chubby humps in burlap pants.

`Those weighty sacks keep hicks grounded on Earth.

Also: At lunch time those fat farmers will be in warfare.

`Watch the neocons screech and scrap over the two yams.

`Look at the two yams wiggling around in a old brown bag.

`Those tasty yams go good with groundhog romp-pot-roast.

Maybe gravity can explain why...

that punchline fell so flat.

Problem with this theory

Alright, but why does alcohol seem to increase the gravitational pull of my buttocks? Hmmmm?

If Bush Rules From His "Gut"

The american people must vote from theirs .....

Sunday, July 13, 2008 11:45 AM

hmph

This was funnier when it was Colbert.

I like the drawing of Binkley in the yellow square at the lower left. The point is really in the square at the lower right.

Where is the title "Opus" ?
