Jack in the Box, or Hardee's, or Burger King, or White Castle, or Steak 'n Shake, or any of the other thousand and one fast food franchises out there!?
though, there was one franchise called Wiener King that had somehow perfected a method of making the common hotdog totally unfit to eat: when I eat hot dogs these days, it is hot dogs that I buy at the grocery store and then reheat myself
Durian Joe.
I friend of mine lived in Nigeria for a while and was astonished that some large tribes in the north banned polio vaccines because they were under the impression it was all an infidel plot to render Muslim men impotent. Ergo polio is on the rise. So in my mind it's kind of funny how it turned out. Too bad though it couldn't happen to you. Those evil imperialist vaccine people and their bloodlust and evil imperialist intentions.
You got the meandering part right, Smurf. What her point is, I have no idea.
And Durian is right. Helping a few sick kids is great, making generations of children around the world obese is not. I suspect McDonald's efforts are like Lay's feeble attempts to help, a drop in a colossal empty bucket.
The new bigraphical Lay is a nice way to start a friday.
Humanity laid out in brief series of frames for our enjoyment.
It's nice when it's not about some big world ending event (those are nice too sometimes too) and is just about the day to day meaning of a meandering existence.
would be for Ms. Lay to retire.
Has anyone ever told you what an insufferable douchebag you are?
At least once a year, but then, dear old mom always gets a little sentimental on my birthday.
You probably think Ralph Nader is a swell guy too
Actually, I think Nader is an insufferable douchebag.
Thanks for sharing, Bryan.
Like you had no idea we'd all Google it.
And if you don't know what I'm talking about, you're probably better off that way.
Has anyone ever told you what an insufferable douchebag you are? You probably think Ralph Nader is a swell guy too.
I don't blame the actor for playing the evil clown. He needs the money, no doubt.
As for McDonalds, the company can go straight to hell. They profit by selling unhealthy junk to children; the fact that they spend a fraction of their obscene earnings on helping sick children is overwhelmed by the profits they earn making even more children sick by seducing them and their parents into eating meals consisting of little more than salt, sugar, and grease.
It is also worth considering the enormous animal suffering caused by McDonald's selling of meat and poultry products, and the enormous environmental devastation wrought by the production of all those animals.
No, McDonald's cannot cleanse itself of its crimes by a few good deeds. If McDonalds wants to truly do good in this world, it will commit corporate hari-kari and shut itself down.
Not only for the volunteer work, but for a very touching and non-sarcastic look at a real person.
I haven't met any big time actors in person, as such. Oh, I've seen them at cons and the like, but I try not to get into their faces. However, I met one guy who played Oliver Hardy for one of Orlando's theme parks long ago, and he was just like this guy: an honest working pro who sometimes gets exhausted playing a part he got just because he looks like someone famous.
At least they're paid for their creativity and their dedication to their jobs. Most writers aren't, and pretty soon no writers will ever be paid anything.
We read about the Ronald McDonald houses without understanding what's really involved there, so it's good to hear that the corporation is known for more than fast food...
