This brings to mind a W.C. Fields quote. When told of a friends death by drowning in a vat of gin he mused "death where is thy sting".
Regardless of how the writing has been over the years, the lack of shading and detail from the new comics lately makes for a stark contrast.
Or is it white ink on black surface?
Is there a replacement artist's hand in the works?
I was just admiring the artwork in this comic -- how much Carol Lay conveys with a few graceful, well-chosen lines -- and then I saw these letters complaining about not enough black ink. C'mon, it's still February; we don't need more shadows and darkness.
