On target

This clearly illustrates the #1 rule that parents everywhere need to understand: children (whether cloned, adopted, or made the old-fashioned way) are not placed on this planet to live up to the expectations of their parents (though there is no harm in a parent telling his/her progeny what he/she is hoping for).

We'll all be a lot happier if we can get this straight...

genetic preordination

Usually I like Ms. Lay's work, but the sum of this cartoon's content seems to be that since one's inclinations and your behavior in life are genetically preordained, one might as well just get on with fulfilling the worst of that legacy. I hope I've missed something; this is a very diagreeable cartoon otherwise. Some might dispute the very premise.
